Lovin it. Boom!
I love Pat Devlin.
Did the AVIVA sell out tonight for the rugby?
Just spent 2 hours hacking ice out of the freezer compartment of the fridge. The door of the compartment is gone, so it fills up with ice.
Does anybody have any advice about how to stop this from happening again (without actually going and getting a door for the compartment?
I think it's going to come down to getting a door, but there are freezer mats you can buy that can be used to cut down on the build-up of ice. Probably won't solve the problem, but might help a little.
You could just clear the ice out more often.
That's more like it.
You could always keep a cat in there. They're pretty warm and cruelty to cats is all the rage these days.
Pah. All impractical, expensive suggestions. This is the dawning of the Age of Austerity (Age of Austerity. Ausssssstterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrityyyyyyyyyyyy yyyyy). In line with this, simply unplug the fridge. After a few hours, not only will the current build up have completely disappeared, but you will also never have to de-ice it again. And it will cost you less than ever to use.
Another handy money saving tip is to simply remove the fuse or fuses governing all kitchen appliances, dramatically dropping your electricity bill and your reliance on frozen pizza.
This is all part of a new show I am pitching to RTÉ Common Sense for the Post Boom Generation. Eddie Hobbs is on board already.
Here's another fridge related tip I've read:
"Drill a one inch diameter hole in your fridge door. This will allow you to check that the light goes off when the door is closed".
The 4000th post in the thread, and I think it captures what this thread is all about nicely: http://foot.ie/threads/99286-The-say...=1#post1407822
