I thought whiskey was supposed to kill the flu. Drank a half of bottle the other night and it turned my flu into a monster.

I dont think it really works on its own, your best to have it with Lemsip. I make a lemsip and put a capful (or 2!) of whiskey in it and go to bed. The only way to fight this flu really is rest. I stayed in bed all day Sat & Sun to shake it and it worked after a week of popping pills but still going to work.

I tried to get a book from the library today - I asked them if they had it, they checked and said that they did, but it was out at the moment. Then the staff did a bit of a double-take and said, "Ah, it is overdue.......it has been out since 1992!". Made us both laugh.

Kings of Leon are officially over for me. Radio saturation and my sister playing 'Only By The Night' non-stop have killed it for me.

Same happened me with David "The Whining Welshman" Gray. You hear it once in a while, it sounds alright - hear it regularly, it grates. Few bands or musicians are good enough for frequent play. I submit The Beach Boys as one example of a band good enough to endure it. Possibly David Bowie as another, though that maybe down to his diversity, as much as his ability.

Same happened for me with Oasis, everyone started getting into them. I'm not a music snob and bands have to make themselves heard to sell records, but I preferred them when they were a cult band.
