Kate McGarrigle . . . at age 63, from cancer. Kate was married to singer songwriter Loudon Wainright who was a frequent visitor to Cork, and is mother of singer song writer Rufus Wainright. Kate and her sister Anna were a brilliant singing duo in their own right. What a loss of a brilliant talent. May she rest in peace.
