Any predictions for the Monster game in bridgetown 2moro Night??
Bridge Celtic V Shannon Olympic
Hey Syl any sign of official confirmation of the midweek results? There seems to be a glut of results missing for the lowly 3rd division including one of ours.Quote:

They're going to start the league 2 weeks earlier next year. Big Swing !!
Guy from Moher has been given the job of technical advisor for Clare/Limerick & North Tipp. Made a wonderful speech ;)
Avenue were giving out about the amount of teams training in the fairgreen.
Mainly GAA teams. Kilmaley rep walked out as Avenue rep called the Kilmaley lads a bunch of horses in a roundabout way. F Healy then had a little strop as I think rep was his son. That was the main highlight of the night :o :o
Draw was made for the cup semis
Moher v Avenue B
Newtown v Corofin Harps
Half the cups missing :D
Anyway I told ye I'd give an update & thats about the sum of it.
Fiercely enjoyable stuff
What is happening no one from Olympic alive? Maybe the Manager has locked them up until this evening.
Come on Celtic the league is there for the taking!!!! All the big guns are available so there should only be one winner tonight and the weather won't save them this time!!
Celtic do not have all the big guns available for tonights. They are missing three, one still banned, and two missing due to injury should be a good match though.Quote:

less of the gamesmanship now Arsene, I mean gaffer........none of your players will be missing tonight. On the other hand we are missing 8, two lads washing their hair, one guy is playing dominoes, the other five are going to a hopscotch competition...........Quote:

should be a good game with two good footballing teams. olympic defence who have the least amount of goals conceded are up for a right battle against brigde town's attacking players who are top scorers this season. too hard to say who will come out on top of this one but hopfully it's olympic.Quote:

don't write newmarket off, at your peril. these boys have more fight than lifford and avenue put together. last six games before they lost to avenue they had 5 clean sheets. in cup i heard there was big money made on hedgehunter. which in the buzz of the afternoon made a few of the players unavailable. that would frustrate any team before they played. but there fighting spirit will see them through.
ya avenue were a joke at the start. first five games but were bollocked out of it before one match by ex player and went unbeaten in eight to tie them up nicely. 2 defeats in a row will have knocked them back. lifford are a nice balanced team that can pull off a shock (to some but those that have seen them play ) sorry don't like the bridge would even like to see newmarket win it before them. the dark horses of the race as everyone thinks they lost there chance against avenue.Quote:

As far as I know Ml Lydon was saying the final would be on the 22nd of May.Quote:

I expect Newtown and Moher to contest the final. As for the premier lg... looks like it could be Newmarket as they have the easiest run-in... They were blessed last Sunday too so that could be a sign...

What about tonights game in div 1 , who will you be putting your money on after playing both teams in the last week :oQuote:

having said that i agree with Pauli, meeting was a waste of time............

You need a slice of fortune to win the league and Newmarket seem to be getting the breaks at the minute.
Newtown and Avenue will also be a good game tonight in which we may see a stalemate to suit all other contenders. Bridge should overcome Cratloe tomorrow night but who knows what could happen in a local derby. Bridge's form is poor and Cratloe have beaten them already.
Avenue and the Bridge Sunday will be interesting. THis time next week we will know a whole lot more about the destination of the title.
I'm afraid I'll have to sit on the fence and say a share of the spoils.... which will suit Mntshn down to the ground.Quote:

Newtown V Avenue Match is on tomorrow night in Ballycasey.......
Not so sure about Moher making the final. I'd go for experience over youth any day and the Avenue B lads (when they have a full team) aren't exactly over the hill yet!!!Quote:

Just bringing up my predictions from early in the seasonQuote:

Moher will probably go down as well.
In the 1st I still think Bridge Celtic will triumph but tonights game is massive.
Mountshannon have suprised me & they may have done enough to go up with their points in the bag. Olympic have also suprised me but fair play to them. They should have enough to go up along with Bridge Celtic.Kilkishen are the only other team in the mix but they will be dissapointed by the season overall. They can still catch Mountshannon for a playoff but would have to beat Oly & Bridge in their remaining fixtures which is a tall order.
As predicted Bunratty & Kilrush will go down.Kilmaley may have to play a relegation play-off but they should win that if its the Burren that is.
In Div 2 Hermitage have ran away with it & unless they **** it up Avenue B will go up with them. The Burren will most likely play off for promotion but I expect them to stay in Div 2. This division has been most notable this year for the fact that Kincora dropped out before the start of the season & both Cratloe B & Tullcrine dropped out lately. So I expect nobody will get relegated from this division.
Kilkee should win Div 3 but a cause for concern must be the fact that their form isn't great at the moment.Ennistymon will finish 2nd & its between Manus & Oly B for 3rd. Tulla B also dropped out of this division.
All in all my predictions look to be on course in the main with a couple of suprises. It will all be known in a couple of weeks.
6-1 says it all, no need to say anything your faces after the game said it all, Kilkishen to finish 3rd now.Quote:

Wow that was just emphatic. Champions elect for sure !!
Kilkishen beat Bunratty B 4 - 1 tonight.
Yip a very bad night for Olympic but these things happen in football, teams get nights where nothing falls right but we'll take it on the chin and move on fair play to Bridge they took advantage of how bad we played and mad us pay but that was last night and its over now,we have 3 games to go and 3 wins and where up , then we will get a chance next season to put last nights result right....hope Bridge can go on and win it now but we will finish second and if they slip up then who knows, as they say its a funny old game ...good game Bridge :ball:Quote:

Lifford probably had the better of the 2nd half chances and had a great chance to win it with the last kick of the game but jonny ryan made an excellent stop to keep his side in the title race.
Fair play to both sides who played sporting soccer ..... and magically no dismissals except for 2 spectators by that magic man in black.... Pa Dunne!.....now get out onto the road r we'll have no match..go on, go on :D

The clearance off the line by Kilkishen at 1-1 early in the second half was crucial and to be fair Kilkishen were the better team...despite all their bickering at that poor lad in the middle of the field.
Frankie Coote in the hat was some sight.... Made the trip worthwhile.
Jeez lads that 6-1 was some result last night... I never expected a scoreline like that. Did Olympic show up at all or were Celtic just truly SPECIAL on the night. Celtic have some fine players all over the field... Hickey,O'Connell, Moate....
Am I right to say Olympic need 9 points from their last 3 games to go above Mntshn. Away to Corofin and Kilmaley in the space of 3 days next week and home to Kilkishen in the last game. Still possible of course.
Those 4 dropped points against Kilrush could prove costly though!!!!!
Were Oly in the game at all last night or was it over early on??????
What king of team lined up.
Ger played very well last night as did everyone on the Bridge celtic panel..
What a result (6-1) who can stop them scoring, they looked extremely good going forward last night and their defence is very strong too.
Great game to watch, you could feel the tension.... Fair game eventhough there were some tough battles on and off the pitch... Majority of S. olympic players very sporting and maybe on a different night, things could have been so much better for Olympic, but its fair to say the best team on the night won. The game had everything, great passing and some great goals.
The league is there for them but have they the bottle to finish the job and get that place in the Premier... We'll have to wait and see...
Full team, i think if we had taken a few of our chances it would have been differnt but it just was not going to happen, one of those night's every thing they touched turned to gold and everything we touched turned to..well lets just say we have a lot of lead if anyone wants it, it hurt but it will spur us on for the rest of the seasonQuote:

But take nothing away from Bridge, they definately deserved deserve it. Didnt help us Gazzie and Kieran McCarthy getting injured but these things happen. Not sure what chances people are talking about us missing. I dont remember one clear cut chances we created, a few speculative efforts perhaps but thats all. Ger(jellylegs)O'Connell fell about all over the place(as predicted by me earlier in this thread) but in the end he was too good for our defence, and is a great addition to bridge Celtic. That Ricky guy is also a fine player, very enthusiastic runner.Quote:

Olympic started quite strong with their big centre-forward winning alot of ball in the air (Why wouldn't he be after the Butt rubbing he got before the game? You really don't want to know..)Quote:

Of course olympic went all out to get back into this vital game but this just left space for the quick wingers of B.C(T. Howard very good down the right and s. Byrnes down the left was very effective.)
Bridge then totally knocked the wind out of Oly sails with 2 more quick goals from R. Moate and G.O'Connell... The game had everything with penalty appeals on either side and loads of banter from both sets of supporters, players and managers...Oh and mr halloran got his fair share of abuse.
Great game for us though which was capped with a fantastic individual goal from david hickey and then a very soft goal which Ricky Moate gratefully accepted after olympics keeper had butter fingers.
B.C- team : Goalkeeper:Sean fleming Defence: William slattery,Daniel Aherne, Brian Cosgrove, Patrick Murtagh. Midfield Trevor Howard, Ricky moate, David Hickey, Shane Byrnes Forwards Paul Mcevoy, Ger O' Connell Subs: Peter Murphy
I never knew that he transferred from Pike...Good player very quick..Best of luck to him..Hopefully he can do a good job for our hurlers too we could badly do with a good runQuote:
