Everytime we looked for a game off due to Munster Junior or FAI cup games we were told no unless we were playing away and out of town, dont no if this is an actual rule or just something that suits the victor meldrews down in jackman park. Best of luck Sunday Faces.
Monaghan Town a decent side - some ex LoI players in their ranks and are in last 8 of Ulster Junior Cup!! Also hard luck to Rock Celtic who were unfortunate to lose out to Clonmel Town on pens. Was at the game, cracking match,- great advert for Junior football.
The TSDL have a similar policy as LDMC regarding playing the 'B' team on the same day as an important cup game. On Sunday St.Michaels play Avenue Utd in the 6th round of the F.A.I. Junior Cup. St.Michaels 'B' team are down to play a crucial 3rd round Tipperary Cup game at Clonmel Celtic.
Any word on when the 7th round draw is??
are Clonmel Town and Wicklow Rovers the only teams through to the 7th round so far???
Are Wicklow Rovers not down to play Coachford in 6th Round
call me an anorak, but spotted this in the Cork thread, sometimes results dont get posted onto this thread. Poster was The'View
Lost today 4-1 to Wicklow Rovers in FAI Junior Cup. Played well enough but our young fellows didn't have enough experience. 2 down but they had a man sent off. We got well on top but had a second yellow for one of our men to level things. Got a goal back after 60mins and had 3 great chances to level things. They got their 3rd in injury time and also their 4th. Their a good team but nothing major. On a better note our U-15 team won 2-1 today against Avenue Utd.
Im no anorak but I think that was the 5th round when they beat Castleview, and the Star has the fixture down for next Sat
the only thing worse than being an anorak is being an incorrect anorak, apologies.
Best of luck on Saturday Inswinger. There doesnt seem to be anyone from Wicklow on this thread(that I've noticed), so for the sake of the thread I hope ye win and keep the banter going.
anything to avoid the Limerick love-in/in-house fighting* that normally happens on this thread *delete as appropriate
*sits back and awaits the inevitable backlash* LOL
Are willow park out? thats a big shock.
Anyone hear anything about killester and st. kevins arbritation battle. Think it was heard on Wednesday......
Im involved with Springfield FC (Cork Aul), were travelling to Dublin on Saturday to play TOLKA FC in FAI Jnr Cup.
We dont have much info on them, only that through the internet ...if its the correct team then according to aul.ie/Tables/Dublin the play in
''DIVISION 3 SATURDAY''(if this makes any sense).
There currently in 11th place in league (13teams), played 10 - won 2, drew 2, lost 6 - for 15 against 29!.
Im not 100% sure if this is the team we are playing though.
ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THEM?
could it be Tolka Rovers??? http://www.lsl.ie/LeagueTables.aspx
Tolka Rovers are a 2nd team playing in the highest Sat Junior league,Sat Major.Even though a reserve team they will be decent.
5th round :
Tolka Rovers 2 - 3 Springfield ( Cork AUL )
6th Round :

Does anyone know the Carrick United v Lagan Harps result?
carrick 1-o lagan, game dominated by carrick but couldnt kill of the match.
Eoin Burke scored for Carrick and really it could of being 6 at half time Carrick owned the ball for long periods of the game limiting Lagan to very efforts on Adrian Walsh s goal. Carrick will need to start to taking chances to progress in the comp. Lagan played 4-5-1 which really doesnt suite junior football
TOLKA 2 - 3 SPRINGFIELD
Firstly, sorry for delay in posting, celebrating went on into wee hours of the morning and thus had a knock-on effect on the body today.
Set out from Cobh at 08.30 yesterday morning-arriving in Bewleys(Newlands X) for scrambled eggs tea & toast at 12.00. Out at pitch then for 13.00.
Facilities were unbelivable up there, dressing room, clubhouse(with bar & viewing area) and a pitch that was like a billiard table!. Weather also was ideal for a good game of ball.
Lively start and went 1up inside first 10mins(ball stabbed home from a long throw & flick-on). 2nil up before half-time, from a free kick near corner flag, ball crossed in bounced around the six yard box taking a few deflections and then stabbed home by one of our central defenders. In at half time 2-0, but we knew second half was going to be a battle.
Eraly on in we switched off for a quick corner for Tolka and we were punished when there no.10 picked the ball up at edge of the box and finished well. Response was more or less imminent. Great team play, midfielder(1) won possession in our half, played one-two with midfilder(2), then fed our stiker up top he did very well holdin the ball up and played a clever back-heel pass into the path of the on rushing midfielder(2) who beautifull chipped the Tolka keeper from 25yards out.
Tolka did have the greater overall possession but mainly across ther defence on the half way line, never really penetrated us that much. They did score from edge of the box after we failed to clear our lines. Set up a nervy final 15mins but we managed to hold on for a well earned victory.
Credit to Tolka and thier facilities - had grub laid on for us afterwards and the few pints in their clubhouse went down a treat.
Spirits were high on the bus trip home.
Awaiting outcome for the next round(prob another away trip to Dublin), Home next week to Abbeyfeale in Munster Junior Cup!!!
From the sounds of it Lagan set up very defensively and accepted that they were going to have very limited chances.
Any other results from todays games?
Athenry FC beat St Pauls 4-3 on Penos.
Kieran Kilkelly Athenrys keeper saved 1st & last peno to put athenry through to the last 16 again, first time we reached this stage again since the final in 2006.
Athenry were slightly on top in the first half and St Pauls were the better side in the second having missed two clear chances.
St Pauls were a good footballing side with their number eleven causing all sorts of trouble down the left side. Well done to emmet ronan paddy & steven on a great job at the back.
All three Galway sides through: BSloe beat Westport, Hibs beat Sandhill.
