I found the plot a little dull, and Dennings seems a bit one note (maybe she's just typecast). Cena's very good, and the music was decent, but it's not enough to make the whole thing anything more than mildly diverting. Actually, maybe Douglas Adams found the right words years ago, "Mostly harmless."Quote:

In the Loop was hilarious, it has a great laugh quota in it. The insults alone were worth the price of the ticket. Some parts of it are sadly, all too realistic but it's one of the funniest films I've seen in the cinema.Quote:

W - not what I was expecting considering it was an Oliver Stone film. Josh Brolin was excellent I must say but the movie lacked bite to elevate it above average status.

I haven't seen the BBC series it is apparently similar to (I guess minus the swearing) but I enjoyed it too. Good change from usually Hollywood stuff. I also wouldn't be surprised if that was how bureaucracy works. Good cameo by Steve Coogan too.Quote:

saw star trek on tuesday, its excellent
A few of us went to Crank 2: High Voltage last night. As awesome as it is insane.
I saw The Wrestler, Slumdog Millionaire and Madagascar 2 on my flights to and from New York. That's the order I'd rate them in too, The Wrestler was brilliantly done I though, although it left me very depressed, I'm glad they didn't take the easy ending option. Slumdog was entertaining but I thought it was fairly formulaic, a very good film but hardly matched the incredible hype, Madagascar 2 was, well, Madagascar 2.
Watched Avil the story of anvil at long last.
It brilliant, funny, sad ( heartbreaking in parts ) & uplifting.
Its basically a real life version of Spinal tap with some great lines like " That can be summed up in one word … okay two … three … we don’t have good management."

saw 50 dead men walking at the weekend, enjoyed it all the more as it is based on a true story, admittedly id imagine loosely based but it will make me go out and buy the book.
Saw the new Star Trek film and while its the best offering for a while from the series, its not as good as some of the reviews I have read. Abrams does a good job with it in fairness and I'd like to see the next installment and it was very much a get to know the cast film. If you never watched the original star trek it would be a good way to get into it although there is some poetic licence used. Simon Pegg is an interesting choice as "Scottie".
