'Top of the hill' with regard to where it is in the town.
I think it might be a good idea to call it something that all Cobh people will related to, not just Ramblers fans, in a shameless effort to try and encourage people to games.
If its funny and witty, with articles that would appeal to all Cobh people you might see it generate a bit more interest. It could be passed out in some pubs in the town as well and get a wider audience.
I'm thinking along the lines of pieces on something like St Colemans around the world, different churchs, schools etc. and make it witty etc. so it would appeal to people from Cobh, not just ramblers fans.
Was there a Plymouth fanzine years ago that had a sketch about a drunken sailor and all he got up to around the town and then went to games. It was all witty remarks etc. related to the town that everyone from there got and wasn't mainly about football.
Theres loads of stuff you could do lads, and its a great idea. If its funny then people will keep coming back for more.
Just a suggestion
Anyone any more serious suggestions before I start planning?
Any names taken ur fancy luka?
Anyway: "Rams Corner"
"Oh when the Rams."
"Barmy Army"
Top Of The Hill
The Rambler
Claret & Blue View
A couple of witty ones included but wouldn't really be right for it
Claret and Blue view stands out.
Marco said the programme is gonna be called The Rambler again.
Well if that's the case then it's either Claret & Blue View or Top O The Hill
or maybe 'A Rambling View' or 'The Rambling View'
a rambling view is very witty and catchy
The coleman columns
the Rambling Rag
the claret and blue chew
St Cole's and Goals
sniffer and the dog
Top of the Hill sounds good, the new match programme will be called 'The Rambler' anyone interested in contributing to it???
If we're playing, lets say Cork City at home in two weeks time, why not get onto the City fans and get one of them to write something for the programme, like what their predicted score will be and why they think they will beat us or lose to us etc etc.Quote:

Got to call it "Top O' The Hill", none of the others come close...
A bit harsh BV..TOP OF THE HILL is a great name..Lots of `legends`come from there:D:D:D
but like weve being trying for years and got nowhere. Hopefully the likes of city and bohs will attract few more, but i reckon games against galway and sligo ucd so on will only have a few extra than last years amount.
Pre-season support has been terrible to say the least..I know its only pre-season friendlies but 9 in Waterford and 5 in Kanturk is ridiculous IMO..
Fair enough but there only pre-season friendlies.
I'll be honest I havn't been to either game. I considered going to Waterford but I never had any intention of going to Kanturk. Kanturk didn't inspire me to put petrol in the car.:D
Next Week if we don't get fans i'll be surprised. If we don't then you can complain. Now ain't the time really.
in support of what ramblers14 was saying i think The Nortbank is a great name as it could refer to where most of the self proclaimed old fogies situate themselves on match days along side former ramblers greats & it could so refer to the nickname given to the stand at the eastern side of the pitch!!
northbank sounds good, for a while we can dream we are arsenal:D
CRNB sounds good
Anyone interested in helping me out with this?
It's non-paying and involves plenty of research. PM me if so. I will take care of all the printing and putting it together unless of course you're competent in that area and would like to help out. PM anyway.
It mightn't be the same as what you're looking at but there are 2 city fanzines
I.W.O.T.O http://www.iwoto.com/
And Going Commando commandos84@gmail.com
I'm sure both groups would be more than willing to help if you needed advice on printers and the like.
I'll run with 'The NorthBank' so yeah?
Anyone got old programmes or photo that can be used?
That was my suggestion. What do I win? What do I win?:D:D:D
I have plenty of old programmes. With plenty of old photos in them.
I have the 2 Intermediate Cup Final winning programmes around here somewhere, the one from when we played an Ireland 11, Celtic and I have quite a few from the famous Cup run in 1983.
Obviously anything I borrow will be returned same as
Good stuff. Anyone else has anything that might be of use then let me know please. I want to have the first copy out for the Cork City game at least.
i have programs from as far back as 1985 if you want a picture of anyone, no problem or any info no hassle at all
Lads.........thx for all the stuff ye sent thru email......especially to all those from other clubs. The 'Rallying Around' is well appreciated.
