The other way round is more likely! :D

He's now favourite for the Newcastle gig and supposedly in talks with them. Still, I'm sure if Don Howe explains that they still have to meet Lawrie Sanchez at the end of the week, and Roy Evans and Brian Little are only weeks away from being interviewed, he won't mind hanging on...
Yes, linked with interest in move to Newcastle by BBC:

If this process takes any longer, the only one left will be El Tel. Hmmmmmmm....
If Dechamps gets the Newcastle job does this mean Houllier will be available for us again?
This is getting so rediculous it's not even funny anymore.
Neither Deschamps or Houllier are fools though; for all our criticisms that Ireland have unrealistic expectations, Newcastle are as bad, if not worse.
Deschamps has supposedly stated an interest in the Newcastle job, therefore that rules him out of the Irish job. Cant see Houiller taking the Irish job, Im not sure if rumours of him been interviewed this week are even true as he is meant to be on FFF duty in the states.
According to a statement from the head of the French FA (FFF) Houllier has told him he is staying on as their Technical Director, to me that would rule him out of the reckoning for the Ireland job. But, according to today's Indo, the 3 wise men are going to be interviewing him (again?) this week: http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...s-1266970.html

It's understood that the kingmakers are trying to arrange meetings with Lawrie Sanchez, Billy Davies and Gerard Houllier for later this week
I think many people are mis-reading this. Houllier is quoted as saying that he is not interested in the newcastle job, adding that "everytime an English club is in trouble his name is brought up" he then gave the standard "I work for the FFF at the moment and that is they way it is yadda yadda blah blah" could this not mean that he is waiting to be appointed Ireland manager? could he already have been offered the job?

We haven't a clue, and can't back this up with facts, but we reckon that the kingmakers are trying to arrange meetings with Lawrie Sanchez, Billy Davies and Gerard Houllier for later this week
Houllier is in Baltimore

Brian Clough is now 3/1 second favourite. Worth a bet?
