They probably got confused with the Matthews being linked to us rumour

it makes sense aaron being linked considering the qualifications he has... he managed with ards in the north when they won the championship ten years ago, coach at dundalk, spent some happy times with us and managed athlone. athlones the only blot on his copybook....
think callaghan perth would be excellent myself... expains jim hanleys comments about two well qualified people applying for the job.. we know one now whos the other I ask??
Oh god the thought of that horrible little man being anywhere near the flansiro.
Vinny is not qualified, no managerial experience or badges. Got himself in some trouble couple of months ago contacting clubs etc and club were not happy as far as I know
Heard from a reliable enough source that matthews as good as has the cork job and may be bringing prunty with him...
mooney could be going as well too..... matthews must be quiting his bank job surely???
:eek: breaking news story of the year:pCan't see Cork wanting a part-time manager with a full-time team so he'd have to really, big risk he's taking leaving a comfortable job but maybe he's allowed take a "career break" for a while I suppose so he can see how it works out.
Quite ironic if he goes to Cork after most of their fans here used to always complain about his longball tactics.
There was talk a couple of years ago that he was approaching time served enough to go early... Could well have been just talk, and the career break could be the way it's gone.
A small crumb of comfort if he goes to Cork, considering their constant criticism of his style of play, how it was his types holding the league back etc etc. :D
I think you're confusing the CCFC fans with the club administration.
Most town fans dont like rico cause he spoke his mind a couple of yrs back on el weekley and he was right we played cr@p football!! Nothing wrong with that.
I dont like him as he is a walking ****.
Any within earshot of a committee member have any word on when an announcement is going to be made? From a non official source, i heard all interviews were to be concluded today or yesterday with a decision to follow soon afterwards.
Jim Hanley and Michael Connellan are two of the three. Mickey Cox could be the third, I'm not sure.
Looks like alan is going to be the new cork manager alright.....

There'll be a few bob due if he takes Mooney...
how much are we talking...
Depends on who you believe. One paper said 26,500, another said 60k.
if reading sell kevin doyle cork are due 10% of the fee so if that happens they'll be well able to afford moons
A tribunal will set the fee so it's out of our and their hands
..................
sorry rocky i was putting up the fans forum thread and posted it on this thread by mistake
can imagine the uproar with the cork lads. alan the best of luck in your new job.. hopefully you will put in a very competitive bid for dave mooney we could do with the money.:)
Bid?
I thought he was out of contract.
I'm sure there'll be a fixed fee set by the FAI.
In fact I already thought it was 26,500 but can't find that anywhere atm.
