Everyone always overestimate how many of us'll actually be there. I think saying a potential 30k is completely ridiculous. Lets get serious people. I wouldn't say there'll be more than 7 or 8k tops but more like 4 or 5k. There will never be a Paris again.Quote:

Maybe 30k is overestimating it a bit, but I have a feeling it will be between the amount in Paris (40k approx.) and Stuttgart, (16k approx.) because it is who it is and there are numerous ways getting there (definitely more accessible than Stuttgart once it's in a major city).Quote:

I'm not sure if the total capacity figures included standing areas, but either way, for ukraine and scotland, italy played in big stadiums and did not fill them, so no matter where the game is, there'll be tickets.

would think they will play us on one of the big grounds, milan or rome...
There gonna know there is going to be thousands of irish going over and i dont think they could risk it playing at a smaller stadium with piles of irish locked out..There gonna want everything to run smoothly after whats happened over there this last year..
A wednesday fixture will limit the numbers travelling. Paris was a saturday game and easier to get to. Furthermore we knew the venue which we don't for Italy. The distances are huge trains or no trains. The roads in Italy are pretty clogged up too. I did an overnight drive back to Rome after the San Marino game and it turned into a nightmare trip. I know if I book Milan the game will be in Rome and vica versa. If I book both they'll play it in Sicily.
The nunbers travelling to Italy will depend on our first 3 results in reality though.
So when do the Italians have to pick the venue? Is it a UEFA requirement its 3 months before the fixture? I remember it seemed to take ages for the Swiss and Germans left it late before confirmation leading to an all out scramble for flights.
The Germans confirmed in late February for a 1 September game.

i'd say the venue will be announced around october (hopefully)!!! If you take the risk of booking flights to milan and the game is in naples its a good trip down! It really has to be in rome milan or naples imo
if you fly to rome nowhere will be more than 50 euro train ride away.Quote:

Was at both venues during Italia '90. We stayed in Malta & travelled by Catamaran to both Sicily & Sardinia. Ryanair fly direct to Cagliari (Sardinia) which would be very handy.Quote:

I was speaking to someone who knows about this sort of thing and they said that there are no restrictions to what prices they charge and its not against the rules for them to put the prices up to whatever they want. They all generally have a system in place of how they change the prices as the plane fills up, however they do not have to do this in any transparent way, they can charge whatever they like.
Spot on, but it seems to be Ryanairs policy to let their pricing module take over and increase the prices as they sell more seats. When they load up the fares for 7 or 8 months ahead etc they take into account football matches etc, but where the flights are already on sale they dont seem to put them up unlike aerlingus. Badedn Baden, and Bratislave last time around where available very reasonable for a good while after they went on sale.Quote:
