Sure what manager would release a player in the last week of the season Paul! Most of our players are involved in promotion/relegation battles! I spose Shay could have had a gander over. Or Robbie!
Exactly an_ceannaire. Could be over and back in half a day.
Shay was out in Coppers last night. You can take the boy out of the country, but you'll never take the country out of the boy...
Good man shay the royal dinner and then coppers....someone just said that exact same thing about me recently when i posted a picture on facebook from my travels in mexico.
Good news for Doyle. Maik Taylor's been released by Birmingham and, presuming Foster wants to find another Premier League club, Doyle could be #1 next season.
Carr will be offered a new contract and Fahey will have a little less competition with Larsson and Bowyer leaving.

Good news indeed, if he is #1 he'll be playing in Europe
Being given a new contract by Brum!! Reckon Foster could be sold leaving in the poll position to play next season in Championship
Long time since anyone posted in this thread, anyhow good to see Colin Doyle keep a clean sheet against Wolves today in FA Cup. Brought off an amazing double save in dying seconds to deny Wolves a certain winner. He looked assured throughout the game although he didn't have a lot to do. I thought this lad was going to be a regular for Ireland when I saw him about 4 years ago. His seems to have stayed too long at Birmingham for his own good, although he has a decent manager now who seems to give him a few games. Still not too late for him to become a full international
Maik Taylor was sent out on loan during the week, so Hughton obviously rates him ahead of Taylor

Birmingham fans giving him very positive reviews
Posted a video of his impressive double-save against Wolves today here: http://foot.ie/threads/123420-Irish-...=1#post1564085
From 1:35 onwards.
Good to see another clean sheet for the boy Doyler yesterday in the FA Cup
Surely this lad deserves to be no 3 if not higher??
Didnt realise he was first choice at Bham now.
No, Myhill is still #1, Doyle plays the Europa and FA Cup games. Mind you, with some of his performances recently he must be pushing hard for a spot in the first team. I think Stephen Henderson might be third choice by the time the Euros come around. Joe Murphy has also been getting rave reviews at Coventry, plus Randolph and Forde haven't done anything wrong. A lot of competition for that third shirt at the moment, and that's with Paddy Kenny and Brian Murphy both out of contention.
Really top class display of goalkeeping from Doyle today. Won Man of the Match award.
Doyle saved a Mata penalty tonight in Birmingham's FA Cup replay against Chelsea. Stopped Mata in a one-on-one as well. Birmingham lost 2-0 though.
BBC updates mentioning Doyle:

A yard off his line but nice save anyway.
That's the penalty save from the original tie.
Two back to back starts for our Colin in the Championship. Has been solid by all accounts
Would like to see him considered for the Euro panel.
Not for me.
Given and Westwood are the undisputed nos 1 and 2. In my opinion Forde deserves to keep the number 3 GK position because he exuded calmness in the game against Italy. In my opinion Doyle doesn't have this quality. He's a talented guy with an amazing physique, but I think he's a nervous kind of guy and lets in soft goals on occasion. I think Randolph is similar, his positioning from set pieces also being a bit suspect.
Of course, nerves are the kind of thing that disappear with a good run of form. If Doyle becomes a regular at Birmingham then he could play himself into our squad but not if he remains no. 2.
Agreed, Doyle's been second choice for much of the season, cup games apart, whereas Forde was first choice starter until recently
Randolph has played more, but Forde has been in more squads, so my guess is he'll go to Poland as third choice
I have never been impressed by Forde. He has lost his place to a 40 year old, Maik Taylor at Millwall, who Birmingham allowed to leave on a free. I have seen Doyle play a few times this year, especially against Wolves and Chelsea and he has been very assured and alert.
That's good to hear. I think he's got all the talent in the world, just lacking that assuredness and consistency that I look for in a keeper, though I acknowledge that that comes with being a regular, rather than a deputy used on a bit part basis. He's still got time on his side - 27 on 12th June acc to wiki. His 3rd birthday was some day!
I wasn't aware Forde had lost his place.
Forde was out for some time with injury and Jackett signed Taylor after Mildenhall was also ruled out. Taylor's kept his place since afaik. He wasn't dropped so much as he can't get back in. Happens with goalies.
Forde gets a hard time from some but it's worth repeating an interesting stat - last season he kept the second highest amount of clean sheets in the Championship, 17, behind only Paddy Kenny. Millwall finished 9th, QPR were the league's runaway winners.
Just as an aside, QPR were rumoured to have been looking at Hennessy before his cruciate injury. Are they mad?
Great stopper, poor goalie. He's only 25 though so there is time for his decision making and mentality to improve.
Overall I think we are very well served when it comes to keepers. When you consider we have Given, Westwood, Forde, Henderson, Doyle, Kenny, Murphy (2), Gilmartin, and I'm sure I've forgotten a few. Eventually when Shay hangs up his gloves it will be between Westwood, Henderson and Doyle.
Boaz Myhill almost certainly out of the play-off ties according to reports. Another great opportunity for Colin this Friday and Wed 9th V Blackpool on Sky Sports 1. Best of luck to him
Doyle saved another penalty at the weekend, this time saving from Ian Harte. Chris Hughton was full of praise for Doyle. Doyle is a far better keeper than David Forde and Randolph.
His run of games unfortunately has came too late for him to push for a place in the squad. He is certainly playing at a higher standard than both Forde and Randolph currently. International-wise there is nothing between them with Doyle having 1 "A" cap and 1 "B" cap. Randolph with 1 "B" cap and Forde with 2 "A" caps. With his performance against Italy, Trap will go with Forde. But with a starring role in the next 3 games, you never know . . . . . .
I'd love to know does Trap get reports from his scouts about the likes of Doyle and Henderson; or do they just report on the marquee players. I know The Don, Mick Martin and Frank Stepleton do some scouting for him but who else watches potential players? The sad thing is Trap may have never heard of Doyle.
Well Henderson was called up a couple of months ago so you'd have to think he gets reports at the very least. He's called up Doyle in the past too.
Is his name pronounced Colin or Co-lin?
The Millwall fan in the Guardian's Championship Fans' round-up singled out Forde as having a bad season....
