Yeah the old Pats are becoming a bit of a cash cow, two wins for me in 3 days not bad going by them. As long as they keep playing to my gambling thats good, will start backing them to lose soon

What sort of crowds where at the two games last night?
2 quality goals from Pats. With Cork being rubbish and Drogheda hyped beyond reason Pats could spring a surprise this year. Shame it'll all go tits up when Molloy returns and McDonnell drops O'Neill for him. :D
BTW Drogheda have now failed to score in 3 competitive games.
KOH
One game into the league and already the dubs are claiming it's a done deal. Anyone would think this was your first eL season or something. Pats are drawing attention to themselves and will be lucky if they manage to last the pace until the summer.
hehe
no ones signing
but in the pats related hysteria i thought id wind u up a bit more! ;)
Have to laugh at carkies saying others are setting themselves up for a fall. Wheres the world domination plan gone lads? Reading no doubt, along with any other talent you had...
Cork are in a sad state. Its embarressing for the league to have such a poor team representing Ireland's biggest town in Europe this year. Just thank god its the inter toto and won't affect our co-efficient. Gamble looked lost against proper midfielders in Kirby and Fahey and without Bennett to cover him Murray was shown up for the slow fat waster he is. Good luck to O'Donovan getting a move to england with those perforrmances. Although if Robbie Doyle can get a deal with Macclesfield, who knows. John Caulfield and Pat Morley must be turning in their graves looking at Dennis Behan up front. And out 50 fans made a mockery of yours. Then again if Pats were destroyed at home by a team that flirted with relegation last year I'd be quiet too
What lofty9 said:
"We only had one fit forward before the game and McHugh got injured after 25minutes, leaving us with none."
It was just unfortunate that there was noone else there really. There is absolutely no way Beckett is an out and out striker that's for sure. We really missed Farren last night. Fenlon's played two upfront in all his games previous to last night and same at Shels so barring more injuries expect the same at Linfield.
Not in the slightest.Quote:
A bit strange Drogheda playing for a draw
Or maybe Roy could start putting in the effort the Blues did last friday instead of mouthing on about it being our cup final and not taking into concideration that we might just have been the better team on the night, or that our managers motivational skills are better than rico's. If he's gonna make it then every game should be a cup final for him.
They get a couple of breaks from defensive mistakes and cream themselves. Peaking in the first week of the season would be worrying for levelheaded fans of most clubs. Ah well, leave them off, they're just not familiar with how things work at the top.
$helou$?????
:D
Now that makes no sense.

Why was the redeveloped Shed closed last nioght at TC - is it not finished/approved yet ?
How many titles have you won? We've won more before your little franchise came into existence and more since too.
Personally speaking I never said Pats were anything special as a team (going forward I think we are). I just pointed out how rubbish Cork are. if you want to accept that state of affairs, fine.
I'd also point out that this Pats team is totally new. From the team tht started last season only 3/4 remain in their positions since them. We've played the same amount of games as Cork have, so what makes you think we've peaked?
You wont improve, simple as that. Kirby doesn't have a season in him and he'll be suspended for a large part of it anyway. Ndo will fool some of you with his aimless runs but he's as bad as McCourt for being a waster in too many games. Gary O'Neill is always a threat but he'll break under the pressure, when the expectation of the fans gets to him. You're acting like Sligo or someone, the way you're losing the run of yourselves, after a couple of wins.
By the way, watch the video from last night and admit to yourself that you were outplayed for long spells and created very little of note.
yup nothing of note
with Paisley and Mulcahey still to play for starting places I think we have room for improvement, and will. I know a team that will create chances - and Cork and Drogs arent that team. Pats look more likely. Its a pig of an league this season with zero quality around the clubs in terms of football ability.
We created 4/5 chances and scored 3. i'll take that.
You created less and scored 1. We played the perfect game away form home. We were never once put under a period of sustained pressure and thoroughly deserved to win. Read all the match reports, only the most blinkered Cork fan would deny the best team won.
We created 3 goals and could have had another couple!!Quote:

I know it's a long bus trip but how much could you possibly have drunk?
Watch the video lads.
Actually don't, I'm enjoying your making fools of yourselves, acting like teenage boys with a stolen copy of Readers Wives.
Keep it up lads. It's been so long since you won a title that you forgot how it's done...
Pats were the better side, no doubt. Ndo was class, sure we all knew that. Kirby must be hangin around with Noel Mooney, definitely has more hair than the last time I saw him. :D
We could have easily taken an undeserved draw from last night and Pats looked nervy after Joffy scored. We didn't have enough in midfield really but once our 2 stars are given the OK then we should improve.
Its over 6 years since we conceded that many to Pats in defeat at the Cross, we sacked our manager then.
Its been over 3 years since we conceded 3 at home before.
I can't ever remember such an over reaction from 1 football match. Glorified pre-season game, thats all it really was. Obviously we're dissapointed to lose and have lots of work to do but will we just hand Pats every trophy available right now? Christ almighty, you got 2 great strikes and a breakaway goal at the end. You looked solid all round but didn't look like a team that will trailblaze a path to the league unbeaten.
Apart from our appalling finishing and crossing I was pleased with the way City played last night. After reports from Waterford of a poor display it was good to see the team playing with urgency and confidence. Kearney and Ryan impressed me.
Pats deserved to win for the quality of the first 2 goals and for being solid enough at the back but City missed some chances all through the game.
A game that proved Gilesy's old adage that goals change games.
Where are the Pats fans who are claiming that ? We played well last night, scored two super goals, played some lovely football and deserved to win. Anyone going to argue with that ? As for the rest, we have a much improved squad this year, and to my mind are genuine contenders. That's all. The only over reaction I can see is from Cork fans. And if you want to treat what is after all a serious cup competition with substantial prize money as a glorified pre-season game, that's your problem.:p
Despite our results last season, I can assure you that we didn't take the competition anymore seriously. It was a point of frustration for some sections of our support. Rico has his own ideas about the competition.
Either way, we can still get out of the group and still get to the final.
Drogs won the thing last year with one half decent performance against Linfield.
yeah but Drogheda are solid at the back. Cork have Dan Murray.
