id suspect shearer and his supporters were involved also in some way

Whatever about them sacking him, surely they will have to pay him to keep him soon? I mean he will have options already, but a top half Prem finish with basically the fallout and leftovers in his squad, of a string or previous failed incumbents as manager there would see Hughton as the rising star on the ladder surely.
If they replace him with a 'name' as they are well capable of doing in that place, Id bet he will fare better than Newcastle in the long term anyway. If they do that they deserve another relegation.
Two mates of mine (brothers) are big Newcastle fans and I was talking to one about the sacking rumours of a week ago, he felt that it was a ploy by locals to unrest Ashley into making a rash decision, resulting in Ashley becoming public enemy again, resulting in a change of ownership.
Bizarre, but very (car)toonish.
ridiculous....

watch shearer worm his way back in.

sacked by Newcastle. Logical if you look at the last game, bizarre if you have a brain and look at the terrific job he has done there overall. Newcastle are the pits.
I cannot believe this. I never believed all the paper talk that his job was on the line. How can you get a club promoted, sit middle of the table in your first season back up, draw with the league champions, beat Arsenal at the Emirates, hockey Villa and Sunderland and still get the sack? I hope they give the job to Shearer again and they get relegated!!!
Ashton loves "high profile" managers who usually get the club in to difficulties. Perennial under achievers and is it any wonder?
and in a single act, the lunatics are once more in charge of the asylum
Absolutely shocked. Crazy stuff. Get him in for the Irish job!
Jenas was right, that club really is a goldfish bowl.
Newcastle fans shocked and angered:

Newcastle are always good for a laugh
Absolutely disgusting decision. He is the best manager they have ever had.
The must be nuts. Back to home in the championship now I expect.
Disgusting.
Martin O'Neill on his way?
Madness :confused2::confused2::confused2:
Haha, just when you think, even if for a split second, that Newcastle might have begun to shake off the tag of being a shambles of a club, they bounce back and do it again. A baffling and amateur decision.
I hear they have lined up Paul Gascoigne to take over.
with Raoul Moat as his number 2,
Pathetic treatment of a guy who has been a good servant there for a while, and whose performance as manager this year would have exceeded any reasonable expectation. The problem is that Necastle are certainly not a club with reasonable expectations, with an owner who is a total idiot.
Did they seriously expect him to do better with the squad they have?
As a friend of mine wrote:
"Newcastle must be the most religious club in England. They are perpetually awaiting the Messiah. They also believe, despite the complete absence of supporting evidence, that Newcastle is a big club with a right to win trophies. They have won nothing for 50 years. Their last open top parade was probably pulled by a horse". :)
Reading the Newcastle board it must be tough being a fan. To have some idiot making a fool of himself with your club must be hard to take.
Chris deserves better and hopefully will get his due soon.
Newcastle 6 Villa 0
Chelsea 3 Newcastle 4
Newcastle 5 Sunderland 1
Arsenal 0 Newcastle 1
They must be nuts.
Shocking really.
Met CH a couple of times, a real gent.
Joke decision by a joke of of a club.
He's better off out of it.
Manager takes his first permanent job taking over a team that hasn't won anything in years. Wins an immediate promotion back to the top flight as champions with a near-record points tally in his first season and attains mid-table safety once up.
Martin Russell out!

Alan Pardew is the next manager according to rumour mill.
Sickening but he'll get a decent job in no time. Hopefully for a club that will let him build for the future. I genuinely hope Newcastle get relegated now.
I hope the go down, and theres every chance that they will. And Hughton will be fine, better than that shower will be in the long term, a disgraceful abomination of a club.
Too nice a guy for Newcastle.
In fact too decent for football!!
Chris is too good for that comedy club.
They have made a laughing stock of themselves again.
from BBC, just posted on their matchtracker service
to be honest if they ditched Hughton for Jol or Pardew then they deserve relegation. Neither is an improvement on Hughton.Quote:
BREAKING NEWS: EX-SPURS BOSS MARTIN JOL HAS LEFT AJAX
By 'mutual consent'. And I'm saying absolutely zilch about the newly-created Newcastle job...
so they sacked Hughton to appoint his manager when he was coach at Spurs?
