Hopefully he gets well and returns to work in some capacity at Shels. Whilst I think he needs to delagate more work after this health scare I wouldn't walk away from the club I love to sit at home twiddling my thumbs if I were him

Are only good wishes allowed in this thread?
Oh come on guys.. yes he may have rubbed a few people up the wrong way.. but you cant stamp on a guy who has bascially had his entire life and the one thing he loves nearly ripped away from him???
He loves his club.. he wanted so much and now he basically has nothing.. not even his health.. at what point do you look in the mirror and say "Ok .. nows not the time to stamp on him and bring him down even more?.. Lets give him good health and support and see if this is a life changing situation for him..."
It was a genuine question.
I'd guess at the point at which he stops trying to destroy one of the country's leading clubs through his own arrogance, incompetence and fantasies.... ?
I don't like kicking anyone when they're down. But look at everyone on here - one minute Ollie is Satan, next minute everyone has nothing but kind things to say about him. Fcukin ridiculous. And what's changed ? His antics at destroying Shels have finally caught up with his health.
I do not wish the man ill, and would certainly not wish that illness upon him. But being ill doesn't change the fact that he needs to walk out or be put out of Irish football immediately. For the good of the game, and his own health.
ollie hope you recover well from this. Hope things work out for him and Shels.
Yes its something to disagree with what he has done to Shels in everywya possible... and yes dislike him for it..
But when the guy has a serious health problem the question of what he has done to Shels FC is and can never be looked at in the same breathe..
There are people in the world I dislike alot but if they were ever laying in a hospital bed as bad as he is I'd never kick them at all.. I'd give them my best wishes and then see what they are like after they have recovered...
You never know.. this MAY change the way he does things and make him see that nothing is worth more than your life pver...
Dont hold the guys errors against him when he is like this..
Yes it may have been a genuine question.. and i have nothin against anyone asking it at all... but what I do think is that in this serious time in his life that he be given a bit of good will for his health..
I think the best policy here if you can't say anything good, say nothing nothing at all.
For the good of the site...
I think he's a cúnt. Always have done. :)
Don't worry, khoop, you can always stand over here with the silent majority. ;)
OK, can we dispense with the Hallmark card "get well soon" schmaltz for just a minute here? A week ago, everyone bar Shels fans was wishing Ollie would just fcuk off and die. Metaphorically, maybe, but that was the gist of it.
A week ago, he was an all-round wánker. Now he's an all-round wánker with a brain tumour.
Lads, calm off in fairness. Its uncalled for and serves no purpose. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of the guy, you just dont have to post it here.
How is it two-faced, the guy has a tumor .... thats about the time when people should say "its only a game, this guy has bigger problems right now" and say nothing if its not show some degree of respect. Life is short lads, in all fairness, there is a bigger picture.
sling shíte about the guy will serve no purpose. We all have opinions on the guy, and i dont know anyone that was shy in sharing it but this thread isn't the right place at the moment. Its not a big ask.
To be fair, I didnt see any posts on this thread that says they hope that Ollie will return to his former capacity at Shels. Most people just hope he will recover from this illness.
The keyword here is mataphorically. Yes, a lot of people (and I'd include some Shels fans in that) want him nowhere the eL, but I dont think anybody actually wishes him to be physically harmed through illness.
I dont see anything two-faced about it. There is a distinction between admiring Ollies effort at Shels and not wanting him to die from a tumour.
You say "Get well Ollie, then get out of Irish football" but that is what most others are saying anyway.
So is this a football site or is it the teletubbies site???
Let's all be nice to each other and just write cutesy, harmless rubbish???
Ollie is (or was) the greatest curse on Irish football. Arrogant, aggresive, reckless and completely incompetent.
Of course I want him to recover. Doesn't everybody? I just don't want him having ANYTHING to do with Irish football. It's sad that it takes a life-threatening illness for him to step down - but it looks like it was the only way he was going to go.
Maybe next season can actually now pass without Shels threatening legal action every second week.
I wish Ollie a speedy recovery from his illness. Whether anyone wants him to return to his former capacity or not, he might not be physically able to after this. As some have said here, this might be the final wake up call that he needs to move on . He's over 60 he should have been thinking about retiring anyway. Maybe the FAI can ask him to overhaul the rulebook of the League which might be a worthwhile contribution to the game, because he was better able to find holes in it than any other man.
Sorry for dragging this up again but any news on Ollie?
Serious answers only folks...
AFAIK he's still not well with little chance of recovery. I actually heard he was in a hospice but not sure on the truth of that.
Sadly I've heard the same, hopefully the difficult time he and his family are now experiencing will be respected... he may not be a saint and his ways and means of doing things got up the nose of a lot of people...but at least he has a passion for the game here , personally I've always believed if he had been a Rovers fan we'd still be in Milltown.
a hospice? i thought it was only a heart problem he had and had an operation?
Thanks for the updates lads.
Anything I've heard revolved around the rumour that his condition was terminal
Cheers Dodge. Hopefully, those rumours I've heard are only rumours but I doubt it very much
What age of a man is he, roughly?
I'm not too sure. It'd be in one of the shels books I have but i'm too lazy to look. He's c. 60 anyway
