are you Mick McCARTHY?
you'd think you'd be the first to know.....

Exactly right which is why paying so little for him meant it was a gamble they would well afford to take, if he hadn't worked out he would have been released or sold on without a huge loss to Reading.
Wolves are far from a rich club these days so £200k (or however much it is) is a sizeable outlay, they will be expecting Ward to make the first XI pretty soon I would imagine.
Oh oh, another football thread turned geographical debate!
Giggedy Giggedy Goo!
British Isles for ever!
I wish i had Micks job.. lol.. Ok.. maybe I'll know 2nd to Mick :P
It will be reported in the local rag here about when his first game will probably be (which is what I meant to say) :P
From what i've seen of them over the last two or three years(lots of Crowe , less of Ward), it's a has-been v a might be. Gary O'Neill or Jason Byrne would have been better option imo.
Aware of Crowes exploits in Bohs years but don't think he can recapture that.
I agree, I'm not 100% sure of Crowe but in a choice between Crowe and Ward I'd take Crowe.
I assume that wws was being ironic too.
I suppose I should have avoided mainland, but in football terms surely it is appropriate.
A less provocative way of putting it would have been 'anywhere other than a GAA and EPL-obsessed sporting and cultural satellite of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.'
Wonder what Mick McCarthy would make of that? :p
Ward now v Crowe then: Crowe
Warn now and in future v Crowe now and in future: Ward
I just love the way such terms wind up people of a certain (closed) mindset.
Says on teletext that the fee is €250,000 upfront, then €150,000 based on further achievments.
That's a decent sum for what he's shown..
Excuse my ignorance Rogue..was worth every cent so.....
Well then the signing of Burns more than makes up for the balls up that was Browne.
Typical west brit dub attitude. No probs with winding people up about football but when it comes to (lets call it) geography, some of us in the North can become rather irritated. I wouldn't call it a closed mindset either, I'm as European as you can get - I can look past the boundaries of the Dublin/Uk love-in.;)
Folks, once again, the term mainland was used ironically. (I would be first to object if it were used sincerely).
Can we please count to 10 before working up a lather of righteous indignation, however good that might make some of us feel?
200k up front 150k ad ons and 20% sell on clause thats what everyone around the club is saying
€175k up front, €175k in add ons and a 25% sell-on clause.
Not a bad deal, good to see Bohs looking to the future with a sell on clause and the likes of apperence fees etc....
When his 50 million move to Barcelona/Real/Chelski occurs we'll be quids in...:D
have to say. saw ward play on several occasions last season and i thought he looked the business, except for the fact that he was being played out on the wing anytime i saw him. if one game with bohs a goal down, he was switched up front in last 10 minutes and made more chances than bohs had all game. unlucky not to have scored in that game . if bohs had a better manager last year , i think ward would have had alot better season . couldnt believe he was shifted to the wings to accomodate the two grandads up front !!
