put in 30 as well.
Lads, a word of warning: I've heard from both Rovers and Bohs fans that those tifo telescopic poles are prone to break easily, seeing as they're made out of graphite or something.
Something like this?

I have heard that as well. The again i suppose you not meant to hit people with them ;)Quote:

I don't think 4-5-1 need a junket trip to Italy for telescopic pole training yet though. :D
FourFiveOne today put in an order to TIFO for three telescopic flag poles and 2 big drums...
Next step is to sort out the material for flags.
And to get that material sewn together. Any advise lads?
Updates here.
Singer's on the corner of the Grand Parade/Washington Street could stitch it together.Quote:

singers is a rip off like most places these days. I'd say look in the yellow pages and ring around. Better chance at getting a reasonible quote that way.Quote:

We'd be interested in hearing from people who have a sewing machine and would be willing to volunteer their services for free!
We're also still looking for people who want to help with the waving of the flags.
Cheers,
FFO

A few people were wondering if they can hand over their pledges to our sellers on Sunday so if you want to contribute to the fund, please do. We are expecting 3 telescopic poles and 2 drums to arrive on our doorstep next week and we'll go about getting the flags made up then.
i cant go the match unfortunately but i still want to give my pledge. i may be in cork next week (i might be at the quiz night). Is that ok?
Why not try the college of design to see if the student would design and help make the flag??
No problem, I'll wave one of them.Quote:

Two BIG drums and three BIG flag poles arrived in FourFiveOne Towers today.
Eanna and Colm have already agreed to help wave the flags. Anyone else? Ideally another 3/4?
Big thanks to those who contributed to the fund with four different people giving 25 each on Sunday at the UCD game. Fair play. Other people wanting to contribute can email us and take it from there.
Next step is to get the right material for the flags (needs to be very light). Polyester? We reckon we need about 40 feet of Green, 40 feet of red, 40 feet of white. Price in Hickeys is about 200. Anyone who can suss out a better price, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
FFO

id just like to say that when i came home for the Bray match(2nd last game of the season)-the stewards wouldnt leave me into the ground with my flag.
now i never heard anything about this in the past.
do you think that on this evidence that Mr. Lennox will leave in the tele poles and flags?
Cheers Fonzi. Good point...
We intend approaching the club before the start of the season (should have done it before I know!) but we do not envisage any problems. As long as we outline exactly what the plan is...
ie. waving the flags before kickoff on front off the Shed and by the Corner and then placing them safely down out of the way.
well,
they allowed in the bohs and rovers flags this year. they really add the atmosphere, they should be allowed imo.
i was bringing my flag along to matches now and then and had no hastle off anyone.
but since returning for the last 2 games of the season i was not permitted into the grounds with my stick attached to the flag.
However saying that one or two of the lads did actually have flags in the shed and i saw one of them leaving his flag inside the ground after the match.
(the flag with loads sewn together)
however if flags(in general) are banned(if so at all) then no word has come from the club concerning this.
i dont see it printed in the official match day programs.
does any one know whats going on?
i asked the teward in question why i wasnt allowed to bring the stick in and he told me that it was'' cork city have banned them''
i proceeded up to the turnstilles
a couple of minutes later with just the flag and asked one of the fellas on the gate what the story was and he didnt hear anything about it.
if flags are banned then why are cork city selling flags (pride of leeside) at all?
wouldnt it be compleatly stupid to be selling something thats actually not alowed into the grounds?
That was probably just a steward acting the l@nger, nothing new there.Quote:

Never was a truer word spoken!!;) :)
Murphy Out Now!!! (Oh yeah, HE IS!)
Donations to the fund are most welcome. The drums and poles have arrived but we reckon the material and sewing will cost another 250.
A couple of the lads will be at the Supporters Club Table Quiz tonight in PJ Turners. Alternatively you could post doantions to:
FourFiveOne
PO Box 81
Eglinton Street
Cork City
The more money that comes in the quicker we can get the job done. You won't recognise the place come first game of the new season!
Hopefully not, anyway. It'll be bad enough not being able to stand in the Shed, without the same crap atmosphere as last season prevailing as well.Quote:

Can't remember if i actually pledged cash earlier in this thread but i'll put in whatever the going rate turns out to be... 30?
i'll throw a few quid in also
and if ye still need someone i'll wave one around also
As promised... 30 on the way... see ye at the U-21 final.
Chalk me down there aswell !!
My 30 is in the post. really it is!!
Well you got my s at the UCD game.
Many thanks to all who have contributed so far. We have now recieved 150 towards the BIG FLAGS.
We're working on different designs at the moment. We'll try and put some options up on our website so that fans can vote for the best three.
Once we decide on the designs we can go ahead and buy the material. Hopefully by the end of next week.
Also, we might try out the two BIG DRUMS at the u-21 final on Friday night! Bring your ear muffs!
Cheers,
FourFiveOne
Why not open an account where people can lodge in money at A.I.B. / Bank of Barbados etc.
Perhaps a 50 cent increase temporarily on the fanzine could speed it up.
Why not have fellas outside the ground with buckets collecting.
The same fellas could also dress up as scouts and do the bags in Dunnes and Tescos for more cash!!:D
Great suggestions :DQuote:

Thing is they all need people to get involved and help out. More work is fine if people volenteer to pitch in every week. that is the only way things will get done

[COLOR=red]We are trying to decide on the three best designs for the BIG flags. Take a look at the options over on the website and email or PM or text us with your votes. We will decide on three by next Monday and go ahead with buying the material then.
