I dont know why my upload speed so slow with this file.
I am a torrent novice.
I have restricted 4 other seedings to 5kB/sec max upload (otherwise they will shoot up to 50 kB) then I make The Charlton Years a priority seed. Still it only trickles out at 1kB/sec.
Now there are 3 sucking the file, the third one on (who uses "uTorrent 161") is sucking diesel at 30kB to 40kB/sec from me. Could be my neighbour.
I just finished after a week (maybe 6 days), hooray :)
Downloaded it overnight, no problems at all. Thanks to all. I'm seeding at about .3 at the moment.
Then Tets you were the one with the overnight "high powered" sucker.
How come you can download 10 times faster than the rest of us?
Nope, I use Azureus, not uTorrent. I'm on Irish Broadband, and for about the last 2-3 months downloads have been flying down. No complaints at all. The previous 9 months though....
It's not usually as slow. I've reached speeds of 200kb/s but was getting about 2 for this. :) I'm at 82% now and just turned the PC back on. Currently no seeds.Quote:

I couldn't begin to explain it, I don't understand electricity either but I can use it. I think it's the internet version of telepathy except that this type of communication can be rationally explained by someone who knows what's happening.

My girlfriend's parents were back in Ireland a couple of weeks ago and brought me back this DVD.
I haven't got around to seeing this yet but I'm absolutely thrilled they grabbed it.

Here's a weird one. I had this on video when it originally came out in 1996 or 97, can't quite remember when. I'm positive that this new version is slightly different and includes a few clips that are more critical of Jack's style of play. Interesting, no?

If I want to share the dvd of the Charlton years, (Nostalgia is always popular in bad times) after converting it to a smaller file size and MPEG format then I have that file stored on my computer. Then I sent out information about that file and allow other people to download from my computer.
The information about the charlton years file and access information to the Charlton year's file is called a torrent. A torrent file contains a direct link (url) to the file on my computer.
You can make the torrent file open to the public on Torrent websites like mininova.org. Then it would be filed in the TV- sports section.
The idea is, if someone wants the Charlton Year's file, they click on the torrent link listed (for example on mininova), then they can download the file and also upload the file at the same time to someone else. Allowing the file to be uploaded, that's seeding the file. Its not sexy football.
I don't know how the file I am downloading can also be uploaded to someone else at the same time.
Making the torrent file /link, downloading and uploading the file is all facilitated by a Torrent application called a Bit Torrent Client, eg Azureus.
Then again I went to school in simpler times when the the only thing the class could do in unison was sing Oró Sé do Bheatha 'Bhaile and the mathemathics table.

I'm seeding, but no one is connected to me, if you guys are comfortable with giving me your IP addresses I can automatically add you as my peers
yousendit and megaupload allow you stick up files of under 1 gig. another idea would be stick it up on youtube ..
