portugal 2000 was the best trip for me , had we got anything in stuttgart that would have topped it , paris in third place.
looking forward to san marino!!
A great trip, pretty much straight after the WC that summer. Remember going to the U21 the night before the senior game, the rain lashed out of it, made Lisbon in 95 look like a summer evening. Probably about 100 Irish fans at the U21 game..............................
It was my first Ireland away trip, afterwards I was completely hooked. It was Quinner's first game back for us after the cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of the '94 WC. I met him in a bar the night of the game and still have an autographed US 1 dollar bill at home - "Niall Quinn Riga '94". Legend!
Mine too, apart from the States. Absolutely buckled on cheap Vodka, chatting to the players as they wondered around the old town (Eddie McGoldrick, remember chatting to him and Alan Mcloughlin).
Quinner is a legend alright, a sounder fella you couldn't meet. Obviously he has close links with Mcr via his playing days with City. Quite often bump in to him at Ireland matches and always stops for a chat.
