[QUOTE=Peadar]Shels were 1-0 up and they allowed you posession around the midfield, but you didn't threaten until late on, after they had made some changes.
[QUOTE]
So the two efforts we had off the woodwork in the first half don't count as 'Threatening'
That was some Harps team there as well. Tony 'Doc' O'Doherty, Big Jim Sheridan, Logan, Carlyle, Ferry and Harkin. Two NI Internationals. I'm sure there was one or two on the Linfield side as well.Quote:

I'll tell you one thing for sure mate, they don't count as goals.Quote:

We had heard all about how good Derry are and how McCourt would be amazing after a wee rest so you can understand why we all feel a bit let down now after seeing how poor you've been in the Setanta Cup.
As I said though, you've done Linfield a huge favour and virtually presented them with a place in the final so you should celebrate the good will between your two clubs now.
Roy Coyle and Peter Rafferty were both internationals. Peter got his onoe and only cap against England at Windsor. The roar that greeted him when he came on as sub was incredible and within minutes he put Trevor Francis up in the air which was greeted with as big a cheer.Quote:

Might start collecting your excuses throughout the season and compile a comical report in December.
honestly think shels will win the semi quite easily. Cork haven't the quality to beat Shels.
But that's not what you said.Quote:

I've asked you "Do the efforts we had off the woodwork in the first half not count as threaten" and you've totally ignored that point.
I have no arguement over who deserved to go through, In my opinion the team with the most points deserves to go through, no matter how well the team plays, if you don't win matches you're out and that's that.
But you have made a statement that is not backed up by facts and when challenged on it, just ignored it.
Did you even see the match???
To be honest, I never thought Derry looked like breaking us down, which was surprising as they normally give our back four a torrid time.
I'm not so much disappointed that we lost a chance of a home semi-final draw, but for the fact that we had the chance to get the Can't-beat-Derry monkey off our back.
I think criticism of Derry is quite undeserved - I won't say they deserved to beat us, because that is patently false, but they are well-organised and have players of real quality, which means they'll be up there again this season.
I saw the match and I saw Shelbourne as the better side.Quote:

I agree with you, Shelbourne were the better side at the Brandywell, as for Monday night i thought a draw was a fair result.Quote:

No worries! If by some miracle they manage to sneak past Linfield, we should be fine as we've removed all the Shels lads from the team. Have beaten them twice and drawn once with them since the final.Quote:

Doolittle claims he played a weakened side against us because he had accepted his fate and knew he couldn't beat us. The fans reckon they're glad they got Linfield because Shels are the "best side on this island" and they had no chance against them. Now you reckon that the side who played you three times this season, won 2, drew 1, scored 4 and conceded 0 don't have the "skill or mental strength to beat Shels"!Quote:

Chin up lads, you might get lucky and draw Gretna in the UEFA Cup.
sorry mate - its not our manager now crying about the long hard season and players being fatigued (already) maybe you should have rested players as well (all well some managers are spoofers and others manage).
Nice quote this week from Rico about there being no need for a large squad :D Maybe Cork wouldn't draw so many league games if Rico spent more time training the small Cork squad rather than stroking the media with his words of wisedom
Where are Drogs - well we are top of the league table the last time I looked and Cup Chamions and semi final of the Setanta. - oh yeah just signed a finnish keeper for the Linfield game :D
I hope (as I do like Cork) Shels don't show you up too much.
Is he eligible?? Thought you had to pick a 25 man squad before the start of the Setanta??Quote:

Furthermore, the Committee decided that as one of Drogheda United's registered goalkeepers was under suspension, no relief could be sought in respect of this. This decision of the Committee is consistent with its treatment of other applications for changes/additions to squads which had been previously considered over the two years of the Tournament.
You're laughing on the other side of your face now!Quote:
