Holiday inn is available for £71 per room per night, i booked it last night. Hotel is very central and just around the corner from stadium. www.holidayinn.com
Why not do a day trip for this one. You can fly into Bristol return with ryanair and get the train to Cardiff central which is right beside the ground. Dont see the point in staying over myself, little or nothing to do in Cardiff really. You have to head elsewhere for a night out.
Aer arann flights have gone on sale to Cardiff for November. Rip off as usual, 245 return. Looks like Bristol will be the better bet.
was waiting on aer arann and just see today that they are 245e. i was just wondering where they the same price a few days earlier or was i yet again too slow. 245e what a joke! sure the flights to slovakia did not cost that much! and walse is just longside us. fleecing the fans as usual.
prices of flights are gone mental so might just settle for using bus eireann, it was only 35 from limerick to cardiff the last time. its a rough journey but dont get any cheaper than this. it is too early to book it on eurolines.com as of yet, not sure if price will rise but worth a shot maybe
Got hotel this morning 41 per person a night. Riverbank hotel. 5-10 min walk into city centre and next door to stadium:)
Just looking at this trip now. Was thinking of doing it one of two ways. Ferry and train is cheap 100 all in or thereabouts. Failing that (november crossings could be bad!) fly to London with BMI (currently at 100) and get a train to cardiff (only 2 hours and go every half hour). I can't see the flights to Bristol being cheap nor plentiful.
Cant find the Wales away match thread?
Maybe you guys already copped this on but anyway...
Just to let anyone know that BMIbaby have put their winter seats on sale from today Wed June 6.
Just booked flights from Belfast Int to cardiff, out Fri back Sun 18 Nov for all in 80 return each. (not sterling).
So far 4 of us have booked but I know they are going up in price already so anyone interested better be quick.
The times are excellent as well. Out fri 8.45am, back Sun 5.05pm.
Good luck.
Try looking in the right forum!
oops. Okay you got me there! But it has specifically disappeared from the headings, Czech and Slovak games are there. Anyway lifes too short, I forgive you.
There were too many stickies, so only the immediately upcoming games are stickied. However, you can find all the match threads in the away match threads summary thread.
I've asked for this thread to be merged and locked, so it'll be put with everything else and people can use your info!
Have decided that we are going to do a day only on this cos Cardiff is a pain for accomadation and nightlife is poor on footie weekends. Am going to fly into Birmingham on the 6.30am flight and get the train down to Cardiff and catch the 22.10 flight back from Birmingham. Will get a train from Birmingham airport and will only have to change at Birmingham New Street.
i think the eurolines only goes to some m4 service station though with another bus needed into town. sailrail might be best, though i think it's about 70. plus, the quickest way is going from rosslare which means you need to buy a seperate return from dublin to rosslare, which is probably about 40 itself, unless you want to spend about 5 hours on a train from holyhead to cardiff.
Yeah gone with the Birmingham idea myself. Only 2 hours down on the train. Handy for may mates flying from Shannon too, thats if they remember their passports.
Just booked the royal hotel on Mary St for 1 night for 80stg per room pernight.
would it not be better to not publicise flights on here for all to see like above ...that way with the flights automatically go up with the amount of views for a particular date.... if you done your homework, you'd know of all the flight possibilities, now instead all the lazy venturer's get on board!!!
you don't have to fly

especially if there are a group of you going as you could probably hire a minibus for eight for two days and ferry it across for much much less. also, the ferry allows for great drinking etc. as does a minibus of course.
Anyone looking for budget accommodation other than Travelodge could try the recently opened Etap Hotel.
I've booked a room for £32 though i'll probably cancel it if the game kicks off at 3pm and i'm able to get up and down on the train in the one day from London.
ya they are fine examples, cardiff is not that far from holyhead either. good post rodney.
apparently were staying at a holiday camp just up the road from cardiff doing an irish festival weekend 3 nights digs and entertainment for £79 selfdrive or from £99 with coach from birmingham and london bargain or what!:D

Have booked this hotel for twin room for 2 nights for £280. Supposed to be next to Millenium Statium.
Flights with Aer Arann from Cork to Cardiff are now about €200.
As for tickets talked to two Welsh lads in Dublin before Welsh game and they said that home games they normally get 30-40,000 but for the Irish game it will be a sell-out.
You can get flights in and out of Dublin to Bristol on the day of the match with Ryanair now. Cost about €100 - leaves Dublin at 6.30am and back at 10.00pm at night. It's just a 40 minute train run from Bristol to Cardiff and plenty of time after the match (assuming it's a 3.00pm kick-off) to get from Cardiff back to Bristol to catch the flight home. Mighten be much good for people based way outside Dublin, but for anyone in Dublin it's a handy enough run.
Just booked Ryanair Dublin - Bristol Out Friday Morning 9.30 Back Sunday 2.00 pm 150 Euro incl
Lads Birmingham is much cheaper. I am out Sat morning back Sunday for about 80 Euro.
A wee tip for anyone still looking for flights. Flybe fly from Belfast City to Cardiff but flights for November wont be on sale till late June. Get in early and get a cheap flight
26 of us booked into Sandringham hotel. Great value only £85 pp for 2 nights. Great location only 2 minutes from stadium and about 100 bars in the same street.
Remember that the train fare from Birmingham, or indeed London etc, will be very high unless you book in advance. Bristol is not that expensive though. You could probably get from Bristol to the Millenium stadium using public transport in 2 hours.
Booked flights from fri to sun to Bristol with ryanair there 140each.. Just checked trains from Bristol to Cardiff not bad only £6 return and very regular happy days..
Only 120 Return From Shannon Between Nov 16th To 19th
easyjet have launched their winter schedule flights from belfast to bristol. obviously didnt get in very early as all the cheapest flights are gone. return prices are approx. £110stg at the moment (fri-sunday)
