It's "universities", btw. Hopefully while you're there they'll teach you the correct way to pluralise and to use apostrophes... ;)Quote:

Can't say that I ever want Ingerland to do well in any major tornament, quailifiers, friendlies, U21, schoolboy football, international trade talks (I know they count as Britain there), or even single handed round the world sailing attempts. Norn Iron I don't really ever want to win and their kind enough to grant me that wish.
I think that in terms of Ireland's biggest rivals (from an Irish point of view, not a reciprical one,) it would have to be Ingerland. This would be the game where the atmosphere would be at its most bitter and when the results are read at the end of a game it will always get the biggest cheer if they lose.
In regards of the Germany v Holland rivalary it apparently only vicously surfaced in the 1988 European championships. Then it was almost completely one way; Dutch towards German, however now the Germans are indulging with equal venom in the rivalary.
Always like to see England fail(I can't help it:o):D so I suppose it'd be them for me anyway!
If I understood that properly Klein4 was supporting you rather than attacking you Livehead.Quote:

So for me England would still be rival number 1. However, I've lived in Germany and The Czech Republic for the last 4 years so my will for them to loose everything has reduced a lot because if they do win something it's very easy for me to avoid the gloating and pretend it didn't happen ;) I have to say the sweetest feeling I got from watching Ireland play was when Robbie Keane got the equaliser against Germany in the last World Cup. I was working in Germany at the time and there was about 20 of us watching it in the social room (me and 19 Germans). I had to listen to the arrogant b@stards for almost 75 mins after Klose scored saying things like "Ah the Guinness drinkers are going to lose" the looks on their faces when Keane scored was priceless :D
England. And to a lesser extent the Swiss and the Dutch.
I hate the swiss.
just cause I think they came to lansdowne and got a win that they didnt really deserve or have to really fight for and earn.
they seem to have misplaced arrogance that doesnt really sit well with their ability. I deffo wouldnt see the dutch as rivals.we always do alrite against em.
Such a beautiful moment. Thank you IP for reminding us. :DQuote:

Straightforward for you, maybe, but certainly not to anyone else reading your initial post. So save the sarcasm.Quote:

I'm sorry you find us all so tiresome. Perhaps if you weren't so ambiguous in your postings and then so offhand upon receiving reply we too could all be spared this pointless exchange.Quote:

To accept that there is a rivalry would be to concede that some kind of parity or comparability exists between us.
There's no chance of that from this end. ;)

If I was a rival I am sure he would have challenged me to pistols at dawn by now....such a pity there isnt a glove slap icon? eh??
Maybe the two of them could have a dance off.
I take it you saw "American Pie: The Wedding" on the telly this weekend too, Sylvo? :D

Currently the Swiss but overall has to be the english ...
Have to say I had mixed feelings when the North beat England. I was glad to see our fellow Irish brothers do well, but there is a section of the Northern Ireland fans that are very anti ROI and sectarian. The same section that booed and sent death threats to Neil Lennon. Very hard to cheer on a team with fans like that. I think they would consider ROI as their biggest rivals.Quote:
