Carew Beat Mungret 3-1
Was at the Pike match. Decent game. Brendy Hughes scored two fine goals for the view, the second one from a great through ball by Gary Hannon.
It was worth the admission to hear Chalkie rantng like a loon when Lynch screwed up for Pikes second.(he could have made an attempt to catch the cross, but Alan Finnucane was left run the entire lenght o0f the pitch practically to cross it).
Both sides will get stronger, and the seasons beginning to hot up nicely.
What about Granville beating Balla..... :o :o
Ya good game 2 excellent goals from huges well worked both of them involving 4 or 5 View players..Pike were all over the shop anytime Fairview kept the ball on the floor although i suppose a draw was fair enough considering they were behind twice .Thought Lynch was very suspect for Pikes second even though it was a good header by Morris
I agree both teams will get stronger, pike are still getting players back from injuries and holidays so will be alot stronger in the coming months. Heard yesterday evening that Alan Barry has signed for them.
shocked yesterday with the granville v balla game, anyone at it, what happened balla
alan barry did not turn up for boro match. any fixtures for mid-week
can anyone confirm rumour that players who look for transfers at this stage of the season get a two month suspension
No, that it complete rubbish.Quote:

Granville v Pike, Thursday night
Alan Barry transfered from boro to pike yesterday
Dirk,
Back in my playing days a long time ago, i thought that the player requesting a transfer had to get the club that he was leaving to sign a transfer form. Is the same procedure still in place or can pike sign any transfer that they wish..or are they just spreading rumours once again?
no your right, boro have to sign the transfer yet...but why wouldn't they, surely boro aren't that petty
petty, I doubt it, aren't half of the players in town ex-boroite's.? I would love to be a fly on the wall when Mr Barry presents himself at the boro committe meeting with his transfer rquest....
Much better football match than any of last years clashes with Hughes a standard above everyone else.Fairview centre of defence nonexistant ,followed closely by a ghost keeper. What was a simple cross he didnt even raise his hands to at the near post, for the ball to be simply headed home after that.Is Ian Bennet dropped or what???Quote:

pike were missing a couple of players, and a few players were starting there first game of the season having just returned from injury, including Martin O'Neill, if he was fit then Fairviews defence would have being troubled more. Pike will improve in the coming weeks, theres no doubt about that... I expect pike and fairview to be challenging for the league at the end. Carew won't be far off either but there discipline is a joke and will limit their chances. Balla haven't started the season at all well, even tho they beat pike 2-1 in bateman. Two loses to park (at home) and granville (away) already puts pressure on them straight away. Theres a long way to go, and IMO alot of the top teams are going to be taking points off each other. Boro have made a good start but can't see them lasting the pace.
Fairview v Boro
Granville v Pike
Has anybody got the other fixtures for thursday night.?
Hill Celtic vs Park....Quote:

charleville and park having to travel in for a 6.30 kick off, is ridiculous, last night it was dark at 8.30. Price of being in the limerick league I suppose.....
pity about them, how many times have city teams had to travel mid-week to those two hotbeds of LIMERICK football
A lot easier getting to Shannon for a mid week game than the other way. Ask Pike or the Boro about the Hotbed in Shannon and by the way Parks contribution to Limerick football is alot more than :) you would know but than again looking at some of your other contributions , you seem to know very little about any limerick footballQuote:

I have had the pleasure of seeing the great star rvs and fairview teams, the good pike , boro and geraldine teams in the last 25 years. how many trophies have park won in that period...?all that you contribute is a hefty travelling cost to the city clubs.
apologies to all balla suporters for not including your early 80's team in my list. this was a oversight.........
was it not park rangers who stuffed pike 3-1 in the final of the lawson just 8 weeks
ago, leather you seem to talk alot of rubbish for a fan of 25years that has seen it all,
star rovers still talk about the lawson they won every sunday night when they are drinking ,
Daydreamer, you seem to be doing just that, one lawson................ any more.....
Star rvs 3 mjc in a row, numerous leagues and local cups in the mid 80's wake up bud
ask any true fan of local football and most could name at least half of the star, fairview teams............nothing personal againist anybody with either park or charleville but i cant see any of you player being mentioned in the same league..
...thought he was doing well at the Boro. Getting his game and scoring a few goals, any idea as to why he left for Pike?
what ever about park being in the league, charleville should be no where near it. What they did in last years lawson semi final was a disgrace. If anyone doesn't know: the match was scheduled for a thursday night, there happened to be a big GAA match in charleville that night, so charleville said that they couldn't field a team because one of their players was getting married (on a thursday??). LDMC told them to play the fixture, pike and the referee turned up out in charleville, bare in mind some of pikes players travelled from ennis. Charleville never showed up. LDMC gave pike a walkover, charleville appealed, appeal got thrown out by the LDMC, so charleville appealed to the munster council. They stated to the munster council that they hadn't received the fixture over some mix up in the limerick leader printing the fixtures, something about the county edition is out on a different day than the city edition and won the appeal!! Pike ended up winning the fixture about two weeks later, and the season dragged on and on. If they're not going to show some respect to the other teams in the limerick league they have no business in the league, none.
anybody got the prem league table...or is there a site that has it...
cant get it anywhere.. bit of a joke that the league doesn't have a site
Fairview 5 13
Boro 5 13
Carew 5 8

Why doesn't someone who is involved in the Limerick lg send the fixtures and results to a2zsoccer.... Its very good for keeping an up to date table and for fixtures.
For whats supposed to be the best lg in the country it lacking a bit of internet coverage.... Just a suggestion.
Cousinsyl great suggestion but the powers that be who run the Limerick league dont know what the internet is. Its only lately that they put the fixtures in the Tues Star. ;)Quote:

Send off an up to date table (or every score so far) to info@a2zsoccer.com and ask them to put the table on the site.
Then its just a matter of sending the results and fixtures to them as soon as ye get them.
So simple :) :D :ball:
what are the fixtures for sunday
Will they do that for division one as well COUSIN?Quote:
