The fact the title of the article was changed from the original writer (Who in fairness to Tiktok is the one Cork fan I'd trust to write something approaching balanced when it comes to Shels :p ) is far worse than if it was just someone on a rant. That's pretty pathetic really.
thats right, everyone's against you  come on like, the guy has made an offer, but rather than take him up on it, you dismiss it out of handQuote:

He's a liability. If you want to remain blind to that, its your choice. Or if you want to value his contribution to Shelbourne over his damage to the rest of the league, thats also your choice. But don't abuse people for having their own views on the matter.Quote:

its a fanzine FFS it has to be abut opinions. If the Shels fans are giving the right to reply I don't see the problem
I'm barred from relaying any quotes from the article itself but on receipt of advance copy i can confirm that the headline is Herald-esque & article seems fair & balanced.
Why was the article changed from the original to some sensationalist anti Shels crap then? Without so much as the decency to tell the writer who's article is printed under it.
I'd argue against that - look at Doc O'Neill at UCD or Jim Rhatigan at Kilkenny for starters. They've done as much good as Ollie without thenegative associations. Ollie has been good and bad for Shels - his antics have been blamed for failing to secure bigger sponsorship on the back of last year's CL run, apparently - so he's an interesting character and fully suitable to an article in an Irish football fanzine.Quote:

And talk of it being a "Cork fanzine" is nonsense - I'll add my weight to that as I did up the Cyprus match preview.
How the f**k does carrying out character assassinations on high profile individuals from other EL clubs 'move the league forward and professionalise it'.Quote:

Does writing spurious articles about indivuduals like Ollie Byrne and Don Givens increase fan numbers at EL clubs, I doubt it!
Well said superhoops, I'm glad somebody agrees with us, I don't see how you don't find this offencive to Shels fans! As for it being balanced it says the good things, but then says but blah blah blah, as if to say the good doesn't count for anything!
Since when does being a shels fan mean you are automatically an Ollie fan. Is there no separation?Quote:

I genuinely think this would make a good story if done in well, as there is a lot of positives but also a few genuine questions to be asked.

You're missing the point, we don't always agree with his behaviour, but a negitive article on him shows Shelbourne FC in a bad light, and in turn shows the league in a bad light, you have to remember around the barstoolers population Shelbourne are one of the better known EL teams!!!Quote:

Well thats a shame, they've been around the block a good bit. If they dont want to be involved I cant force them. :oQuote:

Thats one view on it. My opinion is that people like this who have, undoubtedly, done great work for their clubs over the years, are now holding the league back, and making it look amateur. The greatest service those two individuals could do for their clubs and the league now is to step aside andQuote:

afaik, its part of the deal. otherwise ollie will call round for a cuppa :DQuote:
