By that logic there should never be any policing, on streets, at events or where ever. Im sure clubs would be quite happy to open the gates and not have to pay for policing or stewarding but they have to due to the tiny minority who cant behave. Just imagine the outrage if Shels fans encountered a single Dundalk scumbag who injured shels fans in the few thousand leaving the ground - there would be more than just yerself thinking of not returning. I myself prefer to see competent stewarding and policing at any event and would be encouraged to return then.
I agree it doesnt make a whole lot of sense for fans mixing heading to the ground except that maybe there hasnt been a match incident to get people riled up. No matter where a game is on there is always going to be a point where fans have to mix as segregation is impractical eg pubs away from the ground or the Dart on the way to Landsdowne. Whatever about the wife and the cinema, i'd say never take a girlfriend to see a film you actually want to watch.....
Read it in the paper some idiots causing trouble at Bohs - Rovers, any views?
That Bohs OG last night, holy god it was bad…
UCD were dreadful. Such poor defending, even if some of our play was great.
It really could have been more, but we took it handier in the second half.
FWIW, I really liked UCD's away top. I did notice that both keepers were wearing purple tops of the same colour, probably should have been made to change.
Harp owe us a new dugout after they cynically vandalised our current one ;) A replacement like the one in the Nou Camp will suffice as recompense.

Had to laugh at Damien Duff being sent off. He never got sent off as a player ever. I always thought when he played that he was calm and kind .Wonder is it that mgt doestnt suit him? Heard there was flares thrown onto the pitch good thing Dublin derby wasnt on RTE.
I've seen worse, but it's cheered me up a bit anyway :p
Yeah, it was the strangest thing but there was this 60-minute game of attackers v defenders before the real game. I think it was a curtain-raiser or something. Most unusual. But then the actual thing ended 1-1
I think next week it's due to be our attackers against Bohs' defenders for the first hour.
So that'll probably end 0-0
Sligo 2-0 up on Drogheda inside 3 minutes
It’s 2-2 now,Sligo missed a penalty before half time and Drogheda have just had a man sent off!!
Was it that bad in Dalymount last night?

40 pyro thrown onto the pitch instead of the usual 10, 1 guy on the pitch, stuff thrown at players and staff as usual. Rovers fans worst ofenders this time , lat time it was bohs fans. Bohs board trying to deflect from an abysmal performance. The idiots throwing flares are exactly that. 7 or 8 people walking in in front of me no searches so no surprise loads of pyro. Doesn't take away from the fact they are gob****es but you'd have to ask yourself why they didn't bother searching people.
We were lucky to win tonight in the game we should have put to bed at half time. I don't think Drogs had a corner until the 93rd minute. I fancy our chances next Friday as much as I fancy the chances of the visiting "supporters" behaving.
Agree that a huge amount (again) of the blame rests with the Lack of proper security in place by Bohs - it’s not that difficult to search people - however the actions of those Rovers fans that brought in the flares and then threw them onto the pitch is disgrace ; and they are either Members or season ticket holders - how many times must this occur before the club takes action against those morons/those who provided them with tickets ?
However again I’d re- iterate the main fault rests with the home club as it was Bohs on this occasion or often others across the league for matches involving/not involving Rovers.
As for the other false allegations by Bohs against our fans and staff ; they are a pathetic disgrace for again peddaling such falsehoods and as usual will not follow up because there is no proof etc.and already mentioned I suspect they are only doing this to deflect their member’s anger away from themselves towards us to deflect from how crap they are as a management team and how run down dilapidated the stadium is ( such is it’s state that you’d seriously have to ask how they’d notice any difference if away fans did cause damage.)
Finally to put this perspective - we got 870 tickets, which were only available in paper format - so instead of being able to purchase them online - Rovers fans had to get themselves to Tallaght Stadium to purchase/ collect them; What a waste of time/resources etc. and a clear demonstration of how badly they are run or perhaps just them being pathetically petty ( most likely a combination of both) .
Bohs some cheek to complain about flares after the amount of them at the cup final
They threw some on the pitch themselves last night and in Tallaght at the last game.
I mean if I was running Rovers I would be very worried about what is going to happen next. The last thing they needed after Waterford last season was something like Friday night.
Lambert and 008 need to deflect, the pity is the eejits with flares gave them an opportunity to do it. Can long survive a loss to ucd on Friday?? Can lambert?
Actually couldn't believe that part of the message/statement that said Bohs fans had been adhering to the rules on flares etc. Amazing stuff.
I see bohs fans talking about allowing no rovers fans in next time. Last time that happened it resulted in a fine, part of the Jodi being closed to home fans and cctv installed to monitor their own fans and stewards because they could control neither. Although nothing happened at all if you believed the bohs board at the time. Bradley was just deflecting from the result was the gist of their response. Gas.
They are becoming really pathetic and it's actually a bit sad. I miss the evil bohs.
It was more the bottles than than the flares.
Raining bottles on the medic while he was treating Liam Burt was disgraceful. Blaming security on you throwing a bottle is also completely idiotic.
An element of the Shams fans were completely out of control. Fighting amongst themselves before kick off with one Danny Dyer wannabe dragged off by the guards, constantly firing missiles and bottles onto the pitch, endangering players throughout the match, lost track of the amount of stoppages. Smashing up the advertising boarding and passing it around the away end like an inflatable banana etc etc, scumbag behaviour throughout the match.
Apparently all that triggered by paper tickets :)
Genuine question, did Bohs send out a similar email to their members after Anto Breslin was pelted with about 50 bottles by Bohs fans while taking a throw in at Dalymount earlier in the season?
I dont understand the amount of finger pointing here, stones in glass houses lads! Condemn supporters behaviour without the 'but' attached, if obvious incidents happened they happened. Blaming home ground security for away supporters behaviour is strawman stuff. The FAI need to grab both clubs by the scruff of the neck, sat 'round a table and made sort the petty squabbling at club board level - set some sort of example rather than public squabbling though it does tend to be Bohs who are not shy of whinging. Bohs should have to prove public allegations made before the assessors report is submitted, shut up, or face some sanction for erroneous accusations. Rovers know who got tickets and if they are passed on and that person misbehaves then the season ticket holder/member is suspended, anyone ejected is banned and the ticket checked for origin if not known to the club. The bs stuff with ticket allocations being used as a stick etc needs to stop too. If Bohs are releasing statements to deflect from results then it only going to damage themselves when they are called out and the fans (eventually) see it for what it is.
What ever about fans, the clubs themselves should be above ridiculous squabbling.
FFS security is a last line of defence against fans' misbehaviour, not the cause of misbehaviour! You never justify any thuggish behaviour except when the home clubs 'plan' fails??
Still smarting about that Shels 'performance'. Such a negetive team, diving and moaning constantly just pure puke football. Ref was shocking, but its very hard to ref teams that don't want to play football.
In the two games I seen of Shels, they work hard but play very little football, and play act and try to con whenever they can (particulary the first game, Sean Boyd was horrendous to watch.... Coughlan-esque).
Both bohs and rovers have their selection of muppets and both clubs would be better off without them. The delay to the start of the match will be what gets a fine for Rovers but bohs fans telling sectarian abuse at manus and past behaviour of their fans makes their board statement look pathetic. Honest question for bohs fans was there more pyro at the cup final by bohs fans ??
Yeah, AFAI remember the ***** who threw the bottle was caught, had his membership revoked and banned. There's been plenty of emails since warning everyone that there is CCTV there and anyone caught throwing anything will be banned.
