First penalty to Derry was very soft last night. Our ex player Figueira went down handy after a bit of contact. 2nd one is fair enough as was a late tackle even though contact on Figueira was when shot was way off target.

Sligo had a few moves when Rovers were pushing the boat out too far or trying training ground stuff in their own half but I'm not sure Mannus had a save to make over 92 mins? I think it is a rule alright. You could be looking to impinge on the offside rule (although I think you can still be considered part of play even when off the pitch, as Italy found out in a finals match a few years back) or gain some other advantage like Dion Dublin's goal off Shay Given in the 90s -

That was ok because Dublin initially left the pitch under his own momentum, but you can see the ref at the end checking with his linesman to be sure he can give the goal.
Jamie Doyle got booked for us against Dudelange for coming back onto the pitch without permission (he had gone down with cramp and landed outside the touchline, but then scooted himself back on for treatment, and to waste time). Not quite the same thing, but similar.
If you're going to have a dig at a mountain then at least spell it right!
Pinapple Stu, sneeky goal by Dublin alright. I was aware if a player left the pitch they cannot come back on without the ref's approval, but I did not know stepping off was an offense as it happens all the time. If a player falls down in a heap and goes over the boundaries and is hurt, just like Byrne was hurt, once they are not interferring with play why is it a yellow? Makes no sense to me.

Did Dundalk make ten changes again? What's the point of that? I think even Dundalk fans would acknowledge it'd be very bad for them to miss out on Europe. So it seems daft to be putting out the stiffs - hammered against Rovers last week - out in a game where three points would otherwise be expected.

Last Sunday was proof (again, not that it was needed) that our reserves are nowhere near good enough, or simply some don't want to be here (Flores for one), so they never should have played for the club again - unless absolutely necessary, maybe when 3rd was secured in between European games at the end of this month.
It was a crazy team lineup and we got what we deserved. We haven't got another game until Friday ffs. That was our easiest game left on paper, should have played our strongest team and made sure of 3 points.
Can't blame Filippo on the lack of strength in depth in the squad but he has to take the blame on team selection tonight.
Shane Keegan is way too involved now as well. The relegation king shouldn't be anywhere near the bench, and now that Giuseppe was sent off, he'll be promoted to assistant for a match or two. He needs to go, along with nearly half the squad.
No positives at all from that, a depressing 90 minutes - apart from the fact that Cork and Fenn must be cracking up looking at that lineup and result!
Don't think he has been offered anything yet, that was just the chairman shooting his mouth to a local journalist who has his ear and direct contact. Did not see the match and for some reason thought it was a 7ish KO. Bit surprised to hear it was all change again from Thursday. Games in hand, tight enough 3rd -6th and playing a side,with no disrespect to Harps, you should expect 3 points from. Very strange. Top 4 will probably get Europe and it would be a major surprise if Dundalk don’t finish in those places but you can’t be taking anything for granted. Two points dropped for sure!
All it does is put extra pressure on next week's game in Richmond.
