Jaysus lads, there's only 1 game played  Sure Longford are still only 3 points off the top spot ;)Quote:

Great result.
Finn Harps had a decent enough crowd I rekon around 3000 at the game
Finn Harps were desperate could hardly string two passes together
Cork City were exellent, No one had a bad game
Head Stewert total as$hole and needs to be trained in how to be a stewert  5hrs 30min drive up and five hours back well worth it for the three points. :)
Dolan was in attendance in finn park last night
Fair play for travelling up! The fans were louder than the commentators on the radio! ;)Quote:

Yeah ... fair play to all that travelled. Seems like the away support just picked up from where they left off, loads of noise, colour and atmosphere.
Great stuff and looking forward to the season.
Bring on Bray !!
Didnt realise Finn Park was haunted, was Pat the only ghost there??Quote:

Finn Harps 0-2 Cork City
Cork City got Damien Richardson’s second stint in charge off to a perfect start at Finn Park on Saturday night, goals from ace marksmen John O’Flynn and Kevin Doyle enough to help the Leesiders to the three points.
O’Flynn and Doyle had been arguably the best partnership in the Premier Division last season, splitting 27 league goals between them to help Cork to the runners-up spot behind champions Shelbourne.

What was the pitch like up there Éanna?
The last time I was up there was the play-off a few years ago and the pitch was like a meadow :D
it was ok, i guess. ball did bobble a lot on some parts though. seen better, seen worseQuote:

We got a licence thanks to our new ground plans - for which planning permission was granted last week, and on which work will start in the next month or so! There will be various bits and pieces of work carried out to Finn Park in the next couple of weeks, but it hardly makes sense to go spending a heap of money on FP with us moving.Quote:

BTW, Pat Dolan is a shareholder in Harps so that may explain why he was present on Saturday night
Will ye be building a wall for the Gents again or will ye actually go to whole 9 yards and get a toilet?
I think that Colblimp is talking about a few young uns that were annoying us just after we scored and your stewards who werent very good.
Interesting that Dolan is a shareholder. Surely there would be a conflict of interest if he were to manage a team against Harps?
The plot thickens :pQuote:

The following are the arrangements for travelling Shamrock Rovers fans for the Finn Harps match.
Finn Harps have informed us that match tickets will be on sale at the Junction 15 bar which is not far from the ground. Our entrance is known as the Back Gate on Navanway Street. No flag poles will be allowed inside the ground, but plenty of space exists for flags and banners.
The Garda will operate stop and search barriers some distance from the ground. Drink will be confiscated and anyone drinking on the street will be arrested and held overnight then charged under the Public Order Act.
We are specifically asked to mention a no flares policy exists because they cause a serious problem for the sea rescue helicopter service which is close by. Local stewards will wear blue rain jackets with steward across the back. I would ask you to co-operate fully with all instructions given on the night.
Finally I would ask all our fans to be as vocal as possible to cheer the boys on, and drive safely home, we want to see you all at our next home game.
John Noonan, Head of Security
mmmmm..... you wonder is this as a result of the rebel army creating a good match day atmosphere on the opening day of the season, some one should tell them that not all premier divison clubs travel the lenght and breath of the country in such numbers. Rovers will probably lucky to have 50 at the match but i supose with there reputation you cant be too carefull.
As for John Noonan if that is the tool with the glasses god help him if there is trouble.
To be fair to Rovers fans, they would have a pretty good travelling support.
Blimey, is that really him?!?! He's about as much use as an handbrake in a canoe... As far as I can remember, when the 'trouble' started, he was nowhere to be seen. :rolleyes:Quote:
