Went along, no cover charge!
Dolan arrived at around 8.30, went around talking to a few people, shaking hands etc.
About 30 so City fans there. Four players there too.
Think its a real pity about the PR firm and the echo ad, more people might have turned up but for that spin and nonsense. Tis called Astroturfing as someone pointed out
Who organised the whole event?
did dolan make a speech or anything? what was the tone of the whole thing? and what players were there??
30 City fans - what a joke!! Thankfully City fans are as smart as I thought they were. Adieu Pat.
im not sure if all the people got the Connection between Pat and why he needed to use a PR firm. The whole thing was beyond me as i thought the Concept of the whole night was simply to say thanks to pat. nothing more. no need for PR. a crazy 1 if you ask me
Which four players were there?Quote:

It's the anti-Pat fans you want to create divisions in the club by not letting us thank Pat quitely by stirring the pot about bad smells and crap. In fact, a lot of it is very petty and nasty ("30 fans. What a joke!" kinda stuff.).
I know, I'm stirrin' it as well now, but I send one message for every twenty of your crap. Maybe YOU should take a back seat as well for a while as you ain't doing the club any favours either.
At least then we could ALL move on.
Here's looking to the future.
I'd agree with Mine'sABulmers, time to cut out all the spam on various mbs. New Forges ahead is what it needed
Didnt take you long to drop Rico!:D
MinesABulmers any idea who organised the whole affair?
Now how do we work Rico's name into a rebel army chant

Ya that was already decided I though. Rich-ard-son's Rebel Army is the prefered one IMO.
Even though I'll definately get flamed for posting this, I'm not very happy that the 4 players went along at all. Not exactly a sign that they're ready to move onwards and upwards, is it?
its fairly bizarre that four players would turn up...i've never heard of that type of thing before. but if you take it at face value, maybe they were just saying thanks to a bloke they genuinely admire and there's nothing sinister to it. if that's the case, then it's actually kinda nice. but if pat lingers about the place and if any of these players start stirring things, then the conspiracy theories may have some substance.
still would like to know what pat said on the night. and whether there was a bitter tone to the evening, or whether it was more philosophical. hopefully the latter.
I think it was a case of turning up for a colleagues going away party, once they turned up for training with Rico the day after I don't really care.Quote:

I don't agree that it would show a lack of respect to Dolan, at all Colm. The 'Rebel Army' is the club and us, the fans - NOT PAT DOLAN!
and brian lennox coined the "Rebel Army" phrase anyway...
Have to agree with that. Its the fans who make up the RA, so no matter who coined the phrase, it's <insert manager/player name>'s Rebel Army, surely?Quote:

No it's not. As Ruairi suggested, the Rebel Army tag predates Dolan. Even I know that ffs.Quote:

Can't agree with you there. Dolan has said he's a supporter of the club and wished us the best, so I can't see the harm in changing the chant. I'm sure he wouldn't take it personally, not that it would bother me if he didQuote:

thecorner, his post suggests no such thing, now stop sh1tstirring or you'll find that ccfc.ie is the only place you can research Éanna "demonstrating" things.
adam
Whoever came up with it, it certainly doesn't predate Dolan. It first surfaced about a month or two after Dolan was appointed.Quote:
