Gallagher was in the right place for the option of the great pass to be made. Great positional play from him.

Didn't Albert Rusnak start for Slovakia against us in the play-off? He has been in the MLS for four years. He should be looked at if he kicks on.
Writes his name into history with the first goal Austin FC score at their new stadium
This guy is a serious talent. Can the irish unleash him? Or is the Wesley Hoolahan incident season ll? A new beginning
Why this guy is not in the squad? He is extraordinary. Its like wes hoolahan case PartIi
Amazing player
Travel restrictions, he wouldn't have been allowed to leave the US
Ok but this fellow is incredible talented
Playing midfielder there Kenny needs to give this fellow his his deserved chance. Along with Ronan. Happy Fathers Day enjoy a BBQ or some italian pasta with boiled meat or chicken in sauce. Profitez de les Fêtes des perès
Two more assists for Gallagher last night against Colorado Rapids, at 1:58 and 3:04 below
An element of luck in both, the defense really should have created those crosses
I always think the standard of the MLS looks so weak, big crowds and impressive stadiums gloss over a real shortage of quality I think. In Gallagher's case he made no real impact at Aberdeen but seems to be well able for that division, which tells its own story.
Definitely. Their record in continental competitions is quite poor as well. Quite surprising tbh when you think how long it's around and it's gained very little in terms of quality traction or even international coverage. It's still a retirement league in lots of ways
Its definitely grown in popularity in the 8 years Ive been living over here but when you look at the US national team squad their best players were still developed by European leagues. The standard overall is still very poor in the MLS right now, but even given the recent acquisitions of Bale and Chillelini the retiring player options seems to be happening a little bit less and less. There are more players like Carlos Vela who have come relatively young and played a good few years. There more that happens the better it will be for the league in the long run.
All that being said Gallagher is a million miles from being near an Ireland squad. Same goes for Derrick Williams who plays every week for Galaxy
not sure about Williams, he was ahead of and rated higher than Lenihan at Blackburn before he left for LA and while at Blackburn was in Kenny's first ireland squads - and his appearances for Ireland, all at left-back, were good. Always thought it was out of sight, out of mind since he moved away.
If you cant see pal, that these were two world class passes you don't understand this game seriously, those passes are hard to defend, but of course Mistakes are part necessary of this old sport. You Irish, I really like you as people you are very humanitarian with a lot of solidarity and altruist acts, but with all due respect you call yourselves as the best national teams fans in international football, but as double standard you as a whole , like the slaying down of your very own players too.
This fellow ain't no muck! The second assist to Driussi former club atletico river plate player player is a thing of beauty that thanks to that Driussi buried it. Thanks for the uploading.
For me this Gallagher fellow must be in international football for Èire.
On Derrick Williams that position as left back is cover by now, but I agree he played well when given the chance, he also scored a screamer! Please people on this stop slaying down your own footballers, I'm not asking for as you say watch them with "green glasses" but a bit of objectiveness,
I'm not a huge fan of MLS myself but it is a very good level, and If a guy like Gallagher can create out of nothing world class assists on regular basis, cap this guy. And tell Gallagher to have a better agent.
Austin FC win 2-1 over Dallas to advance to the MLS playoff semi-final. He's been converted to a left back and seems to be doing quite well, played the full match.
was in Austin in the summer actually and he was alright but its so much slower there.
An interview with him here.
https://worldfootballindex.com/2023/...-ambition/amp/
Unlikely he'll ever be a serious option for us, but it's clearly a career ambition for him. Switching from being a winger to a left back probably increases his chances from no chance to maybe a very slim chance.
call him KENNY MAYBE the US nat team will over residency
amazing, not calling up this fellow is utterly snobbish when Ireland is losing games after games with world football champs like haalandless Norway, Finland, Wales - THEY WERE DEFEATED BY AWFUL IRAN - Luxembourg, England by 3 etc etc etc
I campaign for this Gallagher chap, im from argentina I won the wc, I know my football, same with MANNING I know my football, this guy should be playing in italy, france or even germany , by no means swansea in the championship
Very clever run ~ Nice pass ~ Very nice goal.
The guy is one of the best players in MLS. No call up?
I'm not sure if he's "one of the best players in MLS" but a wing back with 5 goals for the season is certainly an option in an area we are a little short and we could do worse that take a look at him.
