Few mentions of Ireland on his twitter, seems his sister is a champion Irish dancer too

Coventry playing again for west ham 23 s tonight again Bristol rovers senior side. For a midfielder who is an under 18 this year for us he seems like a fine talent hopefully following in the rice mould. Scully subbing up for them hasn't really matched the hype he had as a 15/16 year old when it looked like brits wood snatch him but to be fair he is still under 19 for us this season
In fairness the success of England underage and the vast quantity and unreal quality of player they are producing is phenomenal. I think on the whole that helps our lads who go over to UK clubs which are producing such technical players andchelps us cause Irish qualified lads coming up through those academies are in a great environment.
Glen McAuley came off the bench to score the last goal for Liverpool U19 in their 3-0 win over Maribor in the UEFA Youth League. Masterson played in defence
That's a very good point. I have said in recent years that Irish lads should go anywhere but England in order to get a technical and tactical apprenticeship. But the achievements of the England underage teams over the last few months (they are world champions at 3 age groups) just cannot go unnoticed. They are obviously doing something right at the moment, and should be in a position to challenge for the World Cup itself in the next ten years. And liamo correctly points out that any Irish lad going into that environment can only benefit.
Brighton's U23s lost tonight in Premier League Cup action to Hull, but their first goalscorer was Aaron Connolly, grabbing his second in two games and playing the full match. Hmm... interesting. Jayson Molumby also played the full 90, while Dessie Huctchinson came on as a second-half sub: https://www.brightonandhovealbion.co...-on-03-nov-17/
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/acad...st-ham-for-six goal for mccauley and good mention for steven gerrard for unselfish play.
Ryan Cassidy (16) is now up to 9 goals in his last 7 games for Watford U18s
Little bit of news from tonight's Premier League Cup action - we haven't been hearing much about Ronan Hale recently, but tonight he bagged a brace in Birmingham U23s' 3-1 over Middlesbrough. To make things even more promising, the other goal was scored by Corey O'Keeffe, while Daniel Cleary played the full game: https://www.bcfc.com/news/articles/2...s-under-23s-3/
Elsewhere, Shane McLoughlin and James Finnerty faced each other as Ipswich beat Aston Villa 2-1, while Anthony Breslin and Connor Ronan lined out for Wolves against Norwich, with Ronan earning an assist and Breslin involved in the build-up for one of the other goals: https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/under-23/20171106-late-canaries-double-stuns-wolves/
2001-03-02 according to this Liamoo - http://www.fai.ie/ireland/player/888843084
Not much going on tonight, but Reece Grego-Cox did continue his recent goal scoring form (after some recent absences), albeit as part of a pasting that QPR U23s received from Colchester (who had Eoin McKeown on their scorers' list - surely he must be eligible): https://www.qpr.co.uk/fixtures/under...r-united-u23s/
Elsewhere, Dan Cleary, Corey O'Keeffe all lined out for Birmingham against Burnley, while Paudie O'Connor captained Leeds against Nottingham Forest
Kian Flanagan on target for Palace U23s tonight: https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/2017/nov...-on-13-nov-17/. Still only 18, and made his debut for their development team when he was only 15. His stats for last season were 14 appearances each for the U23s and U18s, with one goal for the U23s and 5 for the U18s - https://www.cpfc.co.uk/teams/u23-tea...kian-flanagan/
Only a handful of games at U23 level today, but a lot of Irish involvement in the scoring:
Irish-eligible (we think) Callum O'Hare scored Villa's opener in their 2-1 win over Norwich: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...-v-aston-villa
Josh Barrett scored two for Reading against Stoke, bringing his tally to seven for the season, while Shola Ayoola got a consolation for Stoke: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...toke-v-reading
Jonathan Afolabi was on target for Southampton in their 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...-v-southampton
Wow, good eye Liamoo, I didn't even spot that - that's fantastic progress from him, especially to make his debut a day after scoring for the 18s. I think he's fast becoming The One To Watch of our young strikers. Let's hope he keeps it up (and of course, doesn't get injured!)
new contract for Corey Whelan at Liverpool: http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/acad...rpool-contract
The 42 state his parents are Irish. Anyone know if this is the case?
A couple of updates as the PL2 teams start to wake from their holiday slumber:
Eoghan Stokes scored tonight and Paudie O'Connor also featured as Leeds U23s defeated Hull U23s. Will Keane scored for Hull U23s for the second time in two games since returning from injury: https://www.leedsunited.com/news/aca...-4-3-hull-city
Jean-Yves Poame doesn't seem to have progressed much but he did make the bench for a recent Sunderland U23s game against Derby: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...erland-v-derby
Aaron Connolly was credited with an assist on Brighton U23s' goal in their 2-1 defeat at Reading: https://www.premierleague.com/match/...ing-v-brighton
That Paudie O'Connor lad from Limerick appears to be progressing nicely at Leeds. But there's a little bit of speculation here that he's slightly further down the ranks than he may like to be: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/01/02...e-mean-for-pa/
I suppose it's not ideal for us either to have himself and Shaughnessy at the same club and position and similar age. Paudie is very young though. Let's see how the rest of the season pans out and there might be a loan move next season.
Power got a run out for Norwich 23 s today after ucd move
Couple of U23 goalscorers at their new clubs:
Aaron Drinan off the mark already for Ipswich U23s - very encouraging: https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2018/jan...-beat-qpr-3-0/
Coventry move Josh Barrett into their U23s - he responds by scoring a hat-trick: https://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/2018/jan...al-palace-u23/
Strange call by them re Barrett. He came.on for the last 15 minutes or so at the weekend.
The keeper for the Coventry team goes by the name of Liam O'Brien and is from Ruislip in London which has a big Irish community.
