Not a sell out it seems, just seemed like it with people huddled from the heavy rain. Crowd: 5676
Galway FC 3-0 Cobh Ramblers 76th Min Stephen Walsh with his 2nd goal of the evening
The Athlone comeback is on! Two goals in five minutes, 3-2 now.
Galway FC 4-0 Cobh Ramblers 84th Min Cobh Ramblers Jason Malloy

All credit to trotting out excuses but we are in serious trouble.
Liam Buckley is a class act. He was badly let down by his players this evening.
We fell asleep after going 3 up but then woke up at 3-2 (hope we learnt that lesson). We could have been 6 or more only skinner was fantastic in nets for athlone.
Athlone where not great but I understand they has injuries.
Fabio is looking as sharp as ever. McNally great at the back and good performance from Walsh . Very happy with the performance (except for the 10min sleep fest ).
Second in the league :)
The second half display by Dundalk tonight was just superb, thought we completely overran Pats and showed we are a serious side. Maybe 4-1 was a little flattering, and that was def a peno in the first half and probable sending off for O'Donnell but it was still some performance to come back from 0-1 down. I don't think Bolger sending off was a huge effect to the outcome as we were already 2-1 up then. And he deserved to go by the way. Brennan for all his talent is a liability at times, his stupidity after ft means he will miss min 2 games, crazy stuff.
Drogs have had a decent start, no doubt about that, but they have played 4 sides already that will finish in the bottom half. They def look to be an improved side on last year, but there is a long way to go.
Cork are the pacesetters, some win tonight. Great start.
What about Sligo, is it too early to talk of a crisis?
Don't get me wrong - I'm delighted to be second but seriously doubt we will be there at the end - given the size of squad a mid table would be great.
But who knows lol
It's just great to firstly put daylight between us and the relegation group firstly
5 sides.
Raise those expectations. We're going to win the league.
Skinner was unbelievable in goals for Athlone tonight. Super (and completely unexpected) goalkeeping performance. Enjoyable match with more good football from ourselves. If we keep that style up throughout the year, I think we'll be grand.
No it's not too early.
Once the talk of off field antics starts its usually self fulfilling aftet that.
Can we ban injury time maybe?
Cost us three points already. If we ignore the two points we won in Bray in injury time of course.
Should have had the game wrapped up earlier, but credit to Limerick for coming back; they probably deserved the draw for pinning us back for the last 20 or so.
Awful crowd, even by our standards. No idea what happened there!
Cork tore rovers apart tonight and the high intensity game they play is a joy to watch. 3 top strikers out and we're top of the league is brilliant. I know its early in the season but all the knockers of CCFC can start eating their hats. Johnny C knows how to get the best out of any team he has managed and this current team is no different. They just keep on going for the whole 90 plus minutes and always challenge for every ball.
It was my first time in the bowl. I don't understand why students aren't offered tickets for a fiver. If you did that and had a few reps on campus and some link up with a local bar for after, surely there would be a few hundred more every week
It is a lovely little ground when the weather is right.
Worth looking at again.

Bray desevedly ahead at half time last night against ten men.Cue half time team talk and they came out for 2nd half with ten behind the ball.Bohs deserved the point.
Dreadful refereeing and lino performances
Shelbourne could well go straight back up this season. Easily the most organised team we've played yet. Saying that, it was never a 2-0 game and Harps wouldn't have been undeserving of a point had we got it.
Decent crowd in Tolka, even if there were a couple of young fella looking to cause a row.
That's Goal of the Season sorted.

Thought they were very well organised against us too though we dominated them for around three quarters of the game and missed a few great chances. They'll be right up there, this league is going to be as much of a dogfight as ever. They may struggle if they get injuries though.
Don't think so. Great finish I'll grant you, but the game was over at that stage and Pats had given up. We were poor(to put it mildly) last night, even at 1-0 up I was worried. We can only improve and I think we will. Very silly from Brennan to get sent off after the final whistle.
Understandable as the first goal was against the run of play. Apart from a 10 minute spell in the 1st half and maybe 5 mins in the 2nd half Dundalk dominated and outplayed Pats.
It's hard to know in what measures it was due to Dundalks excellence or Pats inepititude
Silly, indisciplined and unprofessional - but not very surprising.
Maybe Buckley should have seen that his head was gone and subbed him off
On a different note it was good to hear that at least some Pats fans retain a musical sense of humour - I enjoyed the Sultans of Swing classic "Where's my jumper" on the tannoy last night.
Athlone are five matches without a point, where will they pick up there first points? With Bohs, Derry, Limerick, Pats, Dundalk and Bray to complete their first round, it is not looking good. UCD in 2013 had only four points after eleven games.
Hard to argue with any of that. Dundalk got in and about Pats and didn't let us play. I think the Quigley experiment has failed. With an extra body in midfield instead of him we might have done better. Too many longer balls last night, and then trying to play in dangerous areas at the back at times. I was surprised to see Chris Forrestor come off, as I thought he was probably our best player on the night. I'm trying to look on the bright side though. It's still early days, and we didn't exactly get off to a flier last year either.
(Oh, and it's the Sultans of Ping btw. I'm only just getting the joke now. There was something about Stephen Kenny losing a jumper last year wasn't there ?)
I thought Pats missed Anto Flood hugely. He was very important in the "decider" last season. Playing Quigley in the midfield was never going to work. He simply does't put in the work to compete against Towell, O'Donnell, or Shields. Pats fans know they have a problem at centre half (not that we are perfect in that department). Foran is a liability.
Sometimes, a terrible result can be a good thing. Dundalk's hammering by Drogheda was a huge wake up call for us. Buckley is a good manager, he can put it right.
