I think it was this thread where someone mentioned Lansdowne is too open to build a great atmosphere. If 7,000 Shels fans can do it I'm sure 36,000 Ireland fans can turn it into a fortress if they really tried.

I absolutely hate anyone that leaves football before the final whistle unless the bloke on the tannoy says that their wife's waters have just broken or some horrendous incident in the family has occured. I was at Bruges in 2000 for the Spain v Yugoslavia game when going into extra time these two Spanish fans thought that's it: Championship over and walked out (Remember Spain had to score twice in injury time, which they did).
