Ha, only a -7 goal diff and that includes a 5-0 hammering in Cork. We'll have to batter Longford 7-0 next week to sort that out.

Cork one up.
2 now, Harps imploding.
Good result for us, and an important one after a few weeks without a win, confidence wise.
Up to 2nd now, hope we can stay there!
Poor stuff in Finn Park tonight. That is all.
Possibly a stupid question, but the match isn't on telly today no? Any links?
Entertaining first half in tallaght. Beautiful day too, more of the same please. Little between the teams, arguably the better chances to rovers.
Great goal. Passing move and twigg finish. 1-0 Rovers.
Rovers win 1 nil FT
Best game I've been at in a while. Really high tempo, both teams very committed and no little skill on show either. Good atmosphere to add to that. Hopefully sign of things to cone in tallaght.
Next Fridays nights match is huge for us
I'd say close to 5,000 there. Hard enough to judge, pat's brought a good crowd and sold out their allocation.
Big result for Rovers I think the chasers are hoping they will fall apart but they are still in the driving seat.
Who wants to guess which linesman saw fit to send off Michael O'Neill for complaining about an innocuous push which was given as a free kick?
Three times in the first half alone Douglas decided to draw the ref's attention to nothing much at all, including stopping a Rovers attack midway in to the Pats half, to call the ref back to a free-kick outside the Rovers box and to yellow card a Pats player for dissent. He's something else.
Sent him off for kicking a water bottle. Officials were awful. First 4 frees ended with cards.
Didn't affect the result though. Rovers punished sloppy pats defending and deserved the win
I hear O'Neill was so outraged by the fluid passing move that led to the goal he got himself sent off.
Great result, goal of the season, a quality performance from both sides with European fixtures coming up. Happy with that.
Second best possible result for The Real Rovers.
The officials were disgraceful.
Great goal, Pats were very poor going forward, especially second half as they tired. Comical moment other than the officials...Pender refusing moany Pete's water bottle time wasting twice as he just wanted to get on and take the throw instead..
The game was played at a high tempo and there was a good atmosphere but I don't agree with your estimation of the skill level.
Shams basically route oned it for the first 30 mins. They did get one or two moves together as the match progressed and the goal was a fantastic, skillful move.
Pats were awful for much of the match today.
Ken Oman was poor too.
Oman was alright, had a comfortable enough game just clearing all the balls that were planted straight onto his head, First half was even enough then Rovers came out in the second started playing the ball on the deck and we couldn't get close to them (partly because are players were shattered) I wonder why Rovers don't play like that more often, Great goal as well to win the game
O'Neill was sent off for persisting moaning at nearly every decision and had been told a few times by the 4th official to stop before he was sent off
The better team definately won yesterday in Tallaght. The scoreline slightly flattered Pats.
Very impressed with Pats centre half pairing and the two up front though living off scraps looked lively. Good away support which always adds to the atmosphere. I think Pats are were we were 2 years ago, just lacking quality in one or two areas to go the full distance.
Does this Pats source of yours have access to a newspaper by any chance? The better team won on the day, Pats can't blame an extra 24 hours for that, especially when we had just as tight a turn around for a game with Bohs last year, had to play the game with ten men, and didn't suffer too badly from tiredness.
For the record, Pats didn't blame the european game. Only the Bohs fan above did
No doubnt they were tired in the last half hour though (a combination of a few things IMO, including recent injuries to Mulcahy, Bradley, North, MUrphy)
Of course an extra 24 hours makes a difference,if you cant see that then no point discussing it. never said it was the reason -or contributor- for the result I was simply responding to a previous post (by dfx) saying pats had tired in second half. perhaps he was biased against shams as well:rolleyes: I take it that shams did reject such a request so ?
He flagged after he kicked the bottle. Was looking straight down the line at it.
Regardless though, officials were awful, and Douglas is an over officious fool
A Drogheda man who went to school in Dundalk - he is just a confused fool
