A good few of those lads will end back in the LOI I would suspect. Behan did well in his time at Cork. Dave Mooney was also a fine player in the LOI.

I'd be surprised if Mooney still couldn't make it at League One. Definitely got the ability imo.
The guardian has a list of players that were released from Premier League clubs. I noticed a few names that I don't think have been mentioned yet (apologies if they have :))
Jay O'Shea (Birmingham)
Sam Sheridan (Bolton)
Dean Kiely (WBA)
Nothing too surprising there I guess. Dean Kiely is 40 years of age, so I think he might be retiring. Jay O'Shea never really got a look in for Birmingham. I know nothing about Samuel Sheridan.
Rumours that WBA want Shay Given on a season long loan. Wouldn't be the worst move in the world.
That's why it's called a rumour!

Leon Best allowed to leave Newcastle!

seems a bit harsh on the lad....
Yeah he was in great form until he got injured. Hope that streak will keep him in the Prem, maybe with a Norwich or Swansea.
West Brom are interested in signing Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given, who would cost around £3.5m.

Yeah, he's crap.
Ya, but what about the others too are they crap as well CD?
Not pronounced YAW...
theres some very good players in the airtricity league that can go to england but they just dont get the attention that the young spaniards or young portugesse players get!!
Shay Given's wages are too high for him to command much of a transfer fee.
For example, Messi would have next to no transfer value if he was on wages of a million pounds a week.
Given is a great player who is on very good money, too good in fact. You can't blame him for sticking it ou on the bench at Man City when he's making so much money.
Robbie Keane is in the same boat.
There are plenty of former League of Ireland players playing in England currently. In fact, quite a few of them feature in the international team. In fact, Seamus Coleman attracted more attention than anyone would have previously imagined in last season's Premiership.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...Not.....Thomas Butler. No. This is not happening.
Stephen Gleeson interesting Peterborough.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has dismissed rumours linking midfielder Glenn Whelan with a move away from the Britannia Stadium, after Fulham were reported to be interested in signing the Irishman.

Darren Potter being linked with a move to MK Dons.
Hull interested in Darron Ambrose while QPR may be interested too. QPR would certainly help his career more.
Was meant to be getting his papers sorted http://www.herald.ie/sport/soccer/am...r-2525639.html but no recent developments that I've heard about.

West Brom and Leicester are eyeing Plymouth's exciting young striker Joe Mason
Norwich interested in Anthony Pilkington.

Ah balls. Pilks is a huge player for Town, I really hope he'll stay and get us promoted (finally) next season.
It's also worth noting that he suffered a desperate injury a few months ago and it'll be a good long while before he's back to his best, if that's even possible.
David Forde linked with Aston Villa and Newcastle.
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news...cle749539.html
I've no doubt he is on the radar of Premier LEague clubs but surely not on the basis of a game where he only had to make one save in injury time.
That's a strange article
Also what's with the reference to shut-out?
Clean sheet anyone? This isn't hockey.
...and on our winningest run in a few years.
I like the look of Forde. Solid, unfussed and a mammoth kick out. He has a presence, an inner confidence that calms his defenders. OK, I've only seen him play about 100 minutes, but that's what I noted in him!
