It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
With Richard Dunne's career likely over, he could step right into the team.
We have a good few decent centre half options now. Richard Dunne, John O'Shea, Ciaran Clark, Sean St Ledger, Alex Pearce...and hopefully Shane Duffy and Tommie Hoban will make the breakthrough in the not so distant future too. There is also Damien Delaney and Darren O'Dea. I guess there is no harm with another option re Stearman.
I say we dig up enough of these big, brawny, determined types to fill every position and go full-on orcish army! I'm also strongly of the opinion that we should be performing some manner of aggressive war dance immediately prior to kick-off.
War dances before kick off? How naff.
Paul McShane should be on that list as well. He's not quite as disastrous as a centre half as a full back!
Cannot wait to get him on board....oh wait...

Doesnt say which though if I am being honest. Greenscene says the same thing - http://greenscene.me/2011/03/richard...-with-ireland/
Stearman declared last year that he had a desire to play international football, and while many automatically assumed he meant an England call-up, he could have been referring to an Irish call-up.
You could have picked a better time to criticise O'Shea considering he's currently keeping Manchester City scoreless and his manager is singing his praises to anyone who'll listen.
His timing is impeccable.
A Wolves defender! Excellent news!
It might make people appreciate Paul McShane and Darren O'Dea. Surely Stearman is behind those two, Keogh and Duffy in the pecking order, not to mention the incumbents like Sledge, O'Shea, Clark and Dunne. Good business for the passport office though.
Awaiting Mercenary comments......:)
Not mine, no.
Doubt he will ever get a callk up
Stearman's latest call me up plea.

This lad is barely good enough at Championship level let alone International level. There are literally over a dozen players I'd have ahead of him, even Richard Keogh.
You have a bizarre definition of plea. He's on a pre-season tour of Ireland and was clearly asked, along with his manager, if he hopes to be called up. He's hardly going to say "no, I'm crap and I'm English anyway, **** the lot of you!"
I liked that post, it made me laugh.
He could still just say "sorry i dont think I'm good enough, yet, or maybe never will be", goes back to my argument about players and their egos :P they certainly don't manage expectations very well on their knowledge islands.
Another one..

The whole point of adding new blood in defence is that they are either an improvement on what you have or have an upward trajectory.
I would rather Hoban, Kiernan or Duffy were brought through. This lad looked dreadful when he played in the PL.
Adding mediocrity to the squad is not a solution to our mediocrity.
Double player of the year at Wolves..would give him a chance for sure.
