Wouldn't have thought McCarthy had any interest in coming back somehow, he would see himself playing at a higher level.
King is living and studying in Galway and isn't coming back this season as there's too much travel involved for him...

Don't see McCarthy getting into a Premier Division team at the moment personally. He is talented but he makes a lot of mistakes. He's still young so he may improve but at the moment he wouldn't get his game at that level I reckon. Galway could do a lot worse than signing up Tom King as an option for their squad.
thats super news about Shanahan as hes better than Danny O'Leary.. with the other goalie being Thomas Hyland i assume O'Learys not coming back..
Thats interesting about Adrian Murphy training with ye. He was top scorer for Athlone during his one season with them in 2004. I would be sorry to see Murph and Gary Curran leave if thats the case but its the managers perogrative.Stephen Lynch made only one appearance for us senior wise .
Its beginning to take shape now...
Hyland is a defender, here's his bio below

Hope Hyland "tallies assists" with some "serves" for us
were putting togther a decent squad i think theres certianlly more potential than last year id be hapy with upper mid table obsourity and some cup runs i think
Apparently Hyland had a spell at crumlin united too
Shanahan took part in the training sessions for out of work players ran by the pfai yesterday and for the next couple of weeks

And Brian McCarthy too I see. Though if they agree deals they can start training with their new clubs straight away. Our pre-season training hasn't started yet I believe.
Hopefully Shanahan will be on board for the season.
according to the Longford news this evening we have signed Thomas Brady from Kildare Co... Preseason training is starting this saturday in Flancare Park.. I am going to attend it as all supporters are welcome to go and will let ye know whos training and whos possibly coming.. Anyone that wants to go to the training session send me a pm and I will let you know the time..
David Ennis is a goalkeeper.
Yeah I saw that elsewhere. He and Clarke may have been with the under 20s last season.
Its Cathal Brady as far as i am aware, he is a winger

Marty If you are at training please only report on who has actually signed for us, not those training with us or looking for a contract as it may alert other clubs to what we are doing player wise. Since most players I would say may be in contact with 3/4 clubs better to wait till they actually sign as Town players before releasing the info.
Things are looking a lot better player wise this year and it does seem as we have a better quality of player compared to the previous 2 seasons so maybe things are looking up.
It wouldn't make too much difference everyone knows who's available at this stage as the players themselves will be making contact with clubs as will the PFAI. They won't have to come looking on here.
Dunno I got a PM the other day off TannadiceNutsy (registered about a month ago) asking how Brian McCarthy got on last year...
Touché...
because I dont know whether I am doing right or wrong .. Its says in the papers that visitors welcome but it mentions no time.. I dont know if there is a reason for not publishing the times but out of respect for the manager I do know the times on saturday but anyone interested just send me a pm and they can post it if they like as they wont get in trouble for it once I let them know...
I am covering my own back as I have brought to task for things that I have posted in the past about the club that I care about .. I am not goin to get caught again as there is people out there who want to hang me so they are not getting the opportunity now..
I am going to talk to TC and PC at the training session on saturday and get some information from them about who the players are... and find out whos definitely signed.. PC was a great help to me last season when I went to the one in Ballymahon.. Its of great help to when the season starts you know the player quicker than having to see him a few times to get the face registered when the new season starts..
I'm sure it's just an error that the time wasn't mentioned or the person doing the notes didn't know the time themselves. It's not like they're inviting supporters to train with them!. If people weren't welcome it wouldn't be mentioned at all.
ah the memories acornvilla!!!! It was priceless.. I couldnt see where I was going as I am blind as a bat without glasses!! But at least we had the guts to play on the pitch and we arent afraid to make spectacles of ourselves!!:D
i came along thinking i was going to be in goals! haha ended up left back wearing number 14 which makes no sence! it was 1-1 until i came off ye fell apart without someone vaguely fit in defence :) was daien the keepers name wasnt it? wasnt he the towns GK coach last year and played for the ireland deaf team? r did i dream it! he was pretty good thou
I can't see what difference it makes posting here - the clubs know full well who's training with who etc (normally from the players touting themselves around) - you keep posting away Marty.
Some people just want everything to be secretative and behind closed doors, rather than open and transaparent, regardless of subject... :D
Cant wait to hear the sound of gunshots going off during matches this year. Best take cover in the media gantry near Section O this year Tinho.
You never know who has you in the Crosshairs.
Imagine been shot dead with a long range rifle while watching the Town play Finn Harps.
If you break the omerta, you deserve everything you get. Cunnilingus and psychiatry brought us to this.
i had a dream i was talking to TC at a house party in limerick!?
