yeah Ron, good point.

1- Holland, Great support and play good attacking football
2- Spain, Iniesta and the style of play
3- Italy, I've always liked them ever since I was a young lad, probably because I grew up watching Football Italia on RTE
I'd love to see a few smaller nations with good support do well and get a semi final place... Like S. Korea in 2002.
and of course whoever France & England are playin'
Slovenia for me. Don't understand people wanting England to do well. They're our biggest rivals and I want them to crash and burn in the group stages.
Ill be backing Spain this year, and probably Brazil, Id like Slovenia to do well...hopefully knocking out FRANCE!
Australia is the country ive spent most time in apart from Ireland and loved it!..went to a few games also so hope they do well..Spain have some great attacking players and are a joy to watch but as another post said as long as there is lots of good football i'll be happy.
Australia for me because I live here now and my wife, inlaws and many friends are from here. Also a good run for the aussies would do wonders for the game here where it still struggles to get the public's attention. It also couldn't hurt the bids to host the WC.
Second is Argentina. I've always had a soft spot for the argies since Diego came on the scene - I have great memories as a young fella watching him weave his magic.
I'll be shouting for North and South Korea to both go all the way to the final, it would be great to see what Sepp Blatter would do after the fallout from that result :D Would anyone have the odds on that final pairing!!!
In honesty it would be great to see Spain win, never won a WC and I'l be shouting for them. Lots of unusual teams in there this year, the likes of Honduras, New Zealand, Slovakia and Slovenia always have a soft spot for an underdog so I'll be keeping a close eye on those.
Hopefully the likes of Germany,Italy, Brazil, France, England, et al all go out early (unlikely I know) just to stick it to Herr Blatter
brazil are the only team to win a world cup outside their own continent, so i can see maybe ivory coast getting to the quarters or semis
Slovenia, New Zealand and then when they got knocked out Spain. I'm not excited by football or the World Cup right now though. Soul still crushed by what some are doing to the game.
since neither belgium or ireland will be there im in a bind. i dont like the english team players, they don't have a player like michael owen, who attributed to me crying when argentina knocked them out in 98. spain, i dont really care about them. hey lets say germany. i like the team and the country.
True I've seen plenty of st georges when I've attended games but they are frowned upon by many.
Anyways if you want to read up on some of the anti-english feeling within United fans take a look at this: http://www.prideofmanchester.com/spo...gs-england.htm
wasnt that the point, a country other than brazil has won it outside their continent.
Mexico - play in green, have always given good performances in previous tournaments, are long overdue a place in the quarters, and could very easily eliminate France. As for eventual winners, I'll go for Spain, they've always played stylish football and it would be good to have a new name on the trophy.
USA, even more so, now that they are in with the English.:D
France and England.
France - Lived there for a bit and loved the place. They've also produced two of my favourite players of all time in Zidane and Henry, plus I always follow them in tournaments we're not at
That hasn't changed since they put us out
me and a few of my friends are planin to spend a few weeks interrailin round europe.
which countries do you reckon would have the best atmosphere for the world cup?
was thinkin maybe holland germany denmark?
i knnow france doesnt because i was there during 2006 wc.
any suggestions wud be appreciated
Will be cheering on Holland for my Dutch Uncle. My son bought a Holland jersey for his younger brother today for his christmas present.
Will sort of be cheering for France as it will be my home in a few years, I have a few french friends and have a France football tracksuit given to me by an ex French footballer. Pity that the man I have wanted to marry for many years may have not only led to us being knocked out of the comp but also may in the long run cost me my job. :-(
Spain all the way
ivory coast backwards ireland flag :D
Germany as lived there for a few years, apart from that I think I'd like to see Holland do well as they're generally pretty good to watch.
Slovenia.
