Damn it...
Merde
What?!? A football association turning down a change to make a fast buck? It'll never catch on...
A potentially risky move on the part of the FFF. How many French fans are going to be at the Stade de France after a 2-0 first-leg defeat? ;)
If one was to get a quick flight over and back... buy four!
Prebook. You get assigned a seat as well at the time. And you have to go through security before you board the train. Pretty sure you have to show your passport there as well. It's not like turning up at Heuston or Connolly 2 minutes before the train is due to leave
This morning's Irish times suggest they can be bought on the french federations website at 11am, or reserved by phone??
Not to be contrary, but presuming the French FA will only sell their tickets to those they think are French, which would not be easy to circumvent, based on those forms of ID?
Know there are at least 2 Paris-based posters, but that's only 8 tickets, unless they have a lot of friends....
No. The id system is just to prevent the same person, Irish or French, from buying more than 4 tickets. Anything else would be against the law :)
> This morning's Irish times suggest they can be bought on the french federations website at 11am, or reserved by phone??
No. Only for Agencies, supporter clubs and corporate entities.
Cheers, for clarifying PE.
So Irish punters can buy in France.....good.
I suppose some know others that between now and then will be heading over to Paris. There are FNAC ticket offices all over the city so they shouldn't be a problem to get but dreams of 20,000 in the stadium may have been kicked in the teeth.
To be honest though as it's a midweek match, in November, I wasn't expecting all that many anyhow.
Latest reports on the Irish Times website suggesting there will now be no tickets sold online:
In a clear bid to avoid tickets falling into Irish hands, the French FA (FFF) have decided not to sell seats for the forthcoming World Cup qualifier on the internet or over the telephone.
Tickets for the Republic of Ireland's meeting with France in Paris go on sale at 11am this morning (12pm French time) but will only be available for fans to buy in person at designated outlets across France.
It had been thought that seats would be available to purchase online – as had been the case throughout France’s qualifying campaign.
However, having seen Irish fans invade the Stade de France the last time the sides met in Paris the FFF have decided to close down that route of access for Irish supporters.

Ive a froggie mate, who ive asked to get 4 when he is over next week, i dont care about buying extra tickets to be honest, im pretty sure ill get rid of them as a i know a few people looking for tickets thta dont have any other contacts to get tickets so i can always give them to them :D
Just wondering though, how long does it take for tickets to be snapped up? I know people were saying they dont normally sell out but do tickets generally sell quickly if ye know what i mean?
I will, good thinking, if someone can tell me where abouts the irish section is then cant i ask him to try and get the tickets there? or well relative to a certain section i dont mean exact seats....
I have a friend in France at the moment where will send her to buy 4 tickets for me?
ive noticed a lot of supermarkets in that list pauk egan, but just wondering if all those have ticket outlets at each store throughout the country or is it designated stores in certain parts of the country?!
Just got a call from a friend who is at the Stade de France - large crowd queing there at the moment and the €80 tickets are the only ones that are left.
Maybe demand will be high from the French people after all??
Is it worth sending someone to these ticket shops if that's the case with tickets at stade de france
wasn't expecting that, the frogs have heard the rallying call.
I have applied for tickets from the FAI but have a french mate who is going to get them in Paris for me this evening ...he is going over on the Eurostar at 3pm . I reckon this initial jump for tickets by the french will not last and they won't be sold out too early ....remember they have hardly ever sold out that stadium. If I am successful with both FAI and from France. I will be giving tickets to irish fans on the day.
Also people anybody loaded and just wants to be sure of tickets they are available from a relaively safe site www.viagogo.com right now .
Also be sure to see a glut of tickets available on Ebay ....regardless of the FFF saying they are going to clamp down on e sales.
Back in 2004 there was a load of hysteria ragarding tickets and look waht happene then! Don't fret we will all getin
Could it just be that each outlet only gets a certain amount of tickets and the cheaper tickets are still available elsewhere? Pretty sure I've heard of this happen before with Ticketmaster in Ireland where Stephen's Green has massive qeues and runs out but then but it's easy enough to pick them up down the country.
Ya of course, they sell the higher premium first where there is more of hte expensive tickets and less of the least expensive.
Just had a mate from luxenbourg go down who got 4 with his irish passport, so thats not a worry as suggested by some previouslly. But he was limited and couldn't get any when he went back later!
Lads, I've just been into my local fnac in Stras, got to the head of the queue by 12h40 and all 20€ and 40€ tickets had gone. dunno if they're releasing them in batches or have bundles reserved for clubs or what but the girl who served me implied that soon all that'd be left would be 100€ tickets...
I got mine a few minutes ago at Virgin in Gare Montparnasse. Went to FNAC on Rue de Rennes first but it was bedlam there. Everybody I know here got four tickets. They did ask for id and proof of address though as well as French telephone number.
ya get all the irish out buying up 4, they will definitely sell them all when we get over.
Just been to local Auuchan In luxembourg at lunch an they are selling tickets too.
But only the 80 and 100 eur ones, there was a queue in front of me of all french who bought the cheap tickets 40/60. No 20 went on sale here.
Was talking to few of these guys and most only buying to sell on to Irish that they work with.
ya a mate told me he had to go over the border from luxenbourg to get them, he could only get 60 euro tickets. He is in west block :S1. Said that the girl wasn't fussed about passport and he didnt have to show it in the end, but that he had to give all his details, but said he reckoned he would be able go back and get more.
He did also say not many of his irish colleagues had gone down yet....
Well theres one of two things going on:
1. They are genuinely interested in getting behind their team and demand is high. In such a case were probably gonna have to be happy with what weve got - (i.e 8,500)
2) They are buying up the tickets in the hope that Paddy is coming with 29000 mates and they can fleece us.
Either way, it seems they wanna take us on in the stands as well as the field - Game on...
Looooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww......
