well im only saying what i heard from the player himself, and also i heard it from a few other people...he did turn down limerick fc thou..
Is it true that daniel power is signining for liselton, tossy butler for regional and mark doherty for pike/regional? Heard it from a very good source today.:ball:
tossie butler is most certainly joining regional...bad decision wen regionals players are all leaving....lisselton rovers are after daniel power but he doesnt know wat he is doing cos he is living in waterford for the next 8 weeks i think.....dont know either about mark doherty cos he is working and living in dublin....
not a lot of nice comments being left about newcastle's new gaffer tommy lynch on this thread and worse on other threads.plus on the matter of tossy butler going into town,he's entitled to head elsewhere and try win something in a different league if he wishes.if doherty and power leave this year, wreckon o donnell will too and will be the break up of that team-
tossie butler is signing for regional utd....mark doherty played in a friendly friday night for regional against ballingarry and he played for janesboro on saturday against rathkeale in another friendly,he told me bout an hour ago he still doesnt know wat he is doing yet...daniel power told me on friday night that he is more likely to sign for fairview rangers..they played against broadford in a friendly today
Your a real source of info buddygeary. Daniel off to Fairview most likely and Toss gone also. Mark could end up anywhere.
Well Buddy, did ye play any friendlies yet?
hill celtic 2 newcastle west 1........very good game was up there watching it.....newcastle started the better but hill celtic got bk into it after 15-20 mins........hill celtics players all played very well and the addition of ray massey should help them....he played out of his socks and newcastle couldnt handle his pace or tricks he made newcastle look slow and harmless at the back and people from newcastle said he was nothing to look at he would be a good addition to any team
Ya ray was a good player when he was with feenagh:p What was the NCW team:confused:
ray is still very good player bud..........i think he proved to the newcastle guys that said he wasnt good enough for them very wrong as he had a walk in the park with them couldnt handle him.........hill celtic team is very strong good team that suits ray alot.........few celtic players had a great game sat nite and this team could do well...........celtic missing a few and newcastle missing power not a great loss and mark d was a loss to castle.....good game tho newcastle must not be fully fit as it was only 35 mins a side and they looked to have felt it at the end best of luck to newcastle this season
Yeah it was a great game off ball, after the first goal went in i though we'd struggle as ncw were passing the ball well, nice finish from the striker for the first, skinner's goal at the end was a cracker....thanks ncw for a good game and best of luck for the new season.

I think the fixture list again this season is a joke. It is the same now for the 4th season running. Typical desmond league living in the past.
Result: Askeaton 8-1 Broadford
Shannonside 0, Rathkeale 3. (michael Quilligan 3)
Abbey 2, Ballingarry 0
Ncw 1, Carrig celtic 0
how did the games go the weekend??
anyone look impressive.
i see newcastle won 1-0 did they scrape a result or what??
rathkeale 3-0 and quicks scored hat-trick. very good signing.
what about glin what was that result?
we were shockin against rathkeale couldnt pass a ball.
rathkeale outplayed us totally.
quicks is a good signing for rathkeale.
I heard from 1 or 2 carrig players today , they said NCW seemed to have gone back an awful lot from last year, lucky for the result. Not surprising really with the players they have lost.
Ya Glin game was called off pitch flooded they were suppose to play Ncw Rovers. Ncw A will still be very good this season heard Steven Kelly played for them Sunday. Will be a hard team too beat.
quix is a good player and good signing for rathkeale but sure he is out for few weeks now with an knee injury he picked up on sunday..how long will he stay in rathkeale afc for??heard broadford were useless against askeaton..
Thats all buddygeary is good at is predications! His getting a run these days now that the 3 boys are gone.;)
Weekends fixtures, another though ask for Shannonside, and the first real test for Askeaton, Ballingarry is always a tough place to go and get a result.

Rathkeale 1 V 1 Newcastle West 1130 (J. Roche)
Carrig Celtic 3 V 1 Glin Rovers 230 (P. Manning)
abbeyfeale 1-0 shannonside.
a draw was def what shannonside deserved from their efforts in this game, abbey hardly threatened, the penalty they got was not a penalty, and shannonside had a dead cert of a penalty claim turned down in injury time.but that's the standard of refereeing we have to deal with in this league.if shannonside had full team out, which they also didn't have last sunday, they would have taken this average abbeyfeale team-
i think its going to be a tough premier division this year..didnt think askeaton wud be good but they are proving everyone in the league that they are no push overs this year with 6 points outta 6...rathkeale v newcastle west was an even enough game..all rathkeale in the first and and newcastle in the second half..draw was a fair result.suprised with broadfords victory against ncw rovers.thought rovers wud beat them but broadford must have had all the footballers there..i thought shannonside wud get a draw against abbeyfeale..carrig beat glin 3-1!!! good result for carrig..are glin title tenders this year?? heard few their players left??? is that true?

your right the league is going to be there for the taking this season! askeaton have got off to good start and have given themselves every chance of safety and maybe more. yea glin lost few players, one of their strikers went to killeaney???dont know what the appeal would be there-
How are we all doing?
Just a small opinion on the desmond league, The one problem it seems to have is competition with the GAA. You can be lucky and meet a team on Sunday morning with football or hurling championship the same evening and hammer them due to lack of players. Next week they can go out with all their GAA players and do the hammering themselves. You can pick up 3 lucky points if you hit the right Sunday and it does not reflect the quality of the league especially at the begining of the season.
Anyone agree?
