Polonia Luimni 1-2 Caherdavin B
Not a great result for a team who will supposably challenge for the league...Caherdavin are in 3a!
3a is only one division below this, not a massive difference in them. The polish team are very hit and miss. They beat us 4-0 a couple of weeks ago but we beat them today. We played some lovely football and deserved the win. I still expect them to be there or there abouts depending on how they hold their team together.
I completely agree with that to be fair, but i thought ye had finnished third from bottom in 3B last year? I was just saying if it was a similar team to the one then, its not a good result seen as the Polish are being tipped for promotion by people, but being honest I dont no your team now at all and ye could be every bit as good. Anyway if they are hit and miss like you say though, they wont be up there come May!
Ya we did finish low down in 3b but if you ask any team from that division they'll tell you we where alot better than the table showed and we where unlucky not to be in the final of our cup. We had the 3rd or 4th best defence in the league i think it was just scoring goals that killed us which at the moment we seem to have rectified. Gordon McKevitt has scored 12 goals in 6 games for us so far in pre-season.
Going on past seasons the polish crowd seem to go on a run of winning games, get absolutely stuffed in mid season and then pick up a bit again near the end. If they have their full starting team they would have the beating of alot of teams in alot of divisions, they play lovely one touch football and are full of movement. I hear though that they keep losing players or can't rely on always having them down for matches which is a pity cause they have the makings of a very good team.

Being truthful i dont play this league myself either, but i have an interest in it because a few of my friends are with teams in the division. Havent heard much on the teams apart from Hyde, Regional, Moyross and Mungret...where are Abbey and Glenview from?? And Polonia, are they playing thier games up in Dell or what?:D
abbey play their matches in Abbeyvale (Corbally), very good set-up there. glenview play their matches out near the Cat's Cradle pub on the Old Cork Road, think they get their players from around fedamore/ballyneety, don't know much about them but i've played out there before, pitch isn't great, big slope on it. the poles play their home games out in Bawnmore, beside the hospital. ya i know a few lads playin with abbey and moyross so thats why i'd be keepin an interest in it
poles are a very soft team in fareness good football alright though

We won the local tournament over the weekend, beat Weston 4-2 in the final. Playing Regional on saturday, is much expected from them?
think that was yere main problem last season too and what got ye relegated (no offence). saw ye a few times, some very talented young players, small blondey fella on the left wing especially. think if ye got 2 or 3 experienced players in ye could do really well this season, nice bunch of lads and the barrack field is a lovely pitch to play on
No offence taken, you're right about that. We have signed a few more experienced lads. They are nice players but nowhere near fit enough to play 90 mins. Also, we are back plaing in our own place now. Pitch is in great condition after a long break. We have new dressing rooms, the place is looking well. Hopefully the club is finally going in the right direction. Would love promotion but would gladly settle for a safe mid table finish to stop the rot.
Corbally will be very strong this year. alot of their players should be playing premier with the A team but find it more enjoyable to play in the lower leagues with their mates. have done a very tough pre season and signed some nice players. i think they were beating star 4-0 the weekend before the match was abandoned. i'll go for a top 4 finish for them
I don't think so
Shortage of numbers, Ken McKinley is the only premier standard player in the C team
think ye are being harsh on glenview. have a good team this season and will def finish top 3. polish team have lost their good centre half to 5 match suspension.
;)
