cant wait, been ages since we've played. be great to get another win. we'll be going OK if we do. merville should be in decent condition for this aswell.
Galway and Harps is off today. Our U-20 set-up is a shambles
any reason why?? thats bad. players sign from junior clubs and then dont have a game for weeks. very unfair on them

The same thing almost happened to them in the A League this season. Really bad form if true.
Surely clubs in financial trouble would be getting as many Under 20 and reserve players signed as possible so that when the first team squad gets light they can bring forward some of these guys to bulk up the squad.
At Harps we had McLaughlin playing up front at the weekend (in a squad featuring 16 donegal players), he signed on the 7th of July and has made the step up and shown to be very capable. We also had Mark Moran come on as sub with Doherty and Carroll on the bench.
In a city the size of Galway surely the pick would be pretty decent.
mad really when the premier division side out of the 3 galway teams are the ones who struggle to get players to play for them. surely they should be the best of the 3 sides like. dosnt every club have to have a team in this ? would result ina fine if they pulled out?Quote:

Mervue and Salthill have decent training set ups, but they also have underage setups, with players being brought up through the ranks from U10 on. Galway have been a shambles at U20 and A level because they don't taek it seriously, don't invest in it and are reaping what they have sown.

Rumour has it 1 player out with injury and 2 gone to junior soccer.
Castlebar Celtic website says they have signed 4 players, Paul Curry, Niall Walsh, Aiden O Shea and Niall Costello for A league and u20 squads. I understood that the u20 squad had to be finalised by last day in July, anyone know the rule???
curry and costello overage for u20 anyway, aiden oshea could be good, plays for mayo
