Too right Catalunya is not Spain
Derry is not Britain and...
As Scousers say; We are not English, We are Scouse!!
I believe this to be true.
Fairplay Shamrock Rovers!:ball:
I never said it was, but they do play in the LFP, ergo...the best team in Spain.

:)
i think youll find it is in spain, all the top players from there decide to play with spain rather than line out for their own "national" side and compete in the non-fifa recognised competions around the world, like the sami from finland etc...
I have to laugh at the people here who like to put down the optimism of Rovers.
After visiting on Saturday, even if the game wasn't a sell out, there was a great buzz around the ground before the game and in the Maldron hotel bar as well.
For me, the one stand in Tallaght pis*es all over every other LOI ground with the possible exception of Turners Cross.
It was nice and tidy, organised to get in and out, what more would you want??
I hope Rovers do get the rest of it finished and get the crowds as it'll be my favourite ground to visit for many years.
That's a representative XI, it doesn't affect international eligibility.
And yeah, Catalonia is in Spain, no matter what any pseud tells you.
Whats next on this thread, whether the Ultras are the Casuals? (hat tip foot.ie circa 2004)
Aaaaaaaaanyways, back O/T.
Well done Shams, twas a class move to get Real in.
Ten times better moneyspinner than 50 year old legends turning up for a paycheck.
IF this game was to happen it would almost certainly be some sort of Real Madrid XI, made up from their youth teams
If they do play it will be such a coup for Shams. Market the game properly and make a real experience of it and you'll get a rake of barstoolers wanting in, and suddenly wanting to be associated with Shamrock Rovers.
Judging on the club's recent performances off the field, I have no doubt they'll make the most of the opportunity. The rest of the league is in real danger of getting left behind!
Presumably Platinum One are involved
Bring on the White Coats!
Pay off the Black Cats!
Pretty much what you were doing until 2 years ago then?
Wow. The begrudgery and negativity from some of the "LOI fans" here could never be topped by even the most ardent barstooler. Meanwhile, Rovers and Tallaght continue to show the rest how it can and should be done.
First of all this is my 1000 post on Foot.ie,woo hoo:D,im no longer a reserve,i think.
Nick Leeson from Galway Utd and Roche from Rovers were on a Business show on the radio this morning.Roche bascially said they cannot afford to keep Gary Twigg. He will go for a decent six figures id say.
He said no such thing you clown. What he did say was if a player is out of contract and another club offers him more money Rovers won't be outbidding the other clubs offering silly money. Twigg is on a three year contract so please explain how we cannot afford to keep him?
Don't call people clowns...
Just refute his point without calling him a clown then.
Really tempted to infract you for that! :p
Listen for yourselves ... Rovers bit is the 2nd half
http://www.rte.ie/podcasts/2009/pc/p...hebusiness.mp3
Twiggs contract was never discussed as suggested.
Interview mentioned a 1.4 million projected turnover and we are currently 10% under the 65% rule :D
bhs
Who's organising this though? Seen on another forum thats its platinum one? And they will pay the appearance fee for Madrid and they will get the money from the gate receipts and chose how much to charge and that the only benefit for Shams will be the extra publicity, chance to attract new fans from that game and then the profit from merchandise sales at the game.
Sorry if this has been explained already.
To be fair it would be a great coup for Rovers (and a welcome few bob). presumably it could/would be co ordinated with opening of far side of the ground. Very good publicity for hoops and LOI so cant see a down side.
Platinum will probobly pocket most of the cash but the game would still be beneficial for both the club and the League.
They are definitely coming to Dublin:
