I disagree. Cobh will have no major budget per se to talk about next season, nor will Finn Harps. Waterford might...I'm not sure. We have proven our ability to beat every other team in the division bar Sporting Fingal. It will be a strong division, but a very competitive one. And I'd rather be playing competitive football within our means rather than in debt. We should be able to attract a decent average gate, operate at a consummate level off the pitch and maintain the steady, but gradual growth the club has seen this year.
I personally don't mind too much about promotion just yet, although it would be nice, and not altogether out of our reach. UCD are poor, quite poor in fact and will lose what talent they have left now that they are relegated. I can see the final shake up involving Shels, Sp Fingal, Waterford and Limerick again. The relegated teams will be demoralised both mentally and from a resources point of view in my opinion.
