The wonders of Sky +. Paused it and had a good old scan of the crowd!
Ive been to Ferrycarrig following the Longford & we were made very welcome there. Lovely pitch & facilities. If they get in temporary seating it wont be a problem. I do think all finals should be on neutral venues but I wasnt complaining when we bet Bohs in Flancare to win the cup in 2004.
Anyway I would LOVE IT if Wexford won ,LOVE IT.
Anyone know seating arrangements yet? Hope we get as much in as possible. Even behind the goals we could fit a small bit, would look much better than standing around the fence.
well done and best of luck in the final. might try and get to the final to cheer you on. wear the pink it puts the other team off, worth a goal start...........
"Tickets will first go on sale at Ferrycarrig on Saturday 13th of September at 1.30pm. Prices, set up by the FAI, are as follows:
Covered Stand Seating €25
Open Seating €25
Standing €15
Children €5"
I presume the "open seating" will be opposite the present covered stand, behind the dugouts and the standing will be behind either goal.
Just hope i can get some to nip on on saturday for them.
They seem a bit pricey, especially if you want to bring the family. Still, it's going to be a great night
Have booked myself and the kids into a hotel down there for the nite so all set now!
What time is kick off for the game anyways?
Kick off is down for 19:30
great. Means we can enjoy a good day out in Wexford before hand!
oldyouth still moaning about paying a fwe quid to help out his club, I see. Some things never change!
Best of luck in the game though. But having seen youz against our A Team, I can't see anything other than a comfortable Derry win. But that's what I thought against Cork too. And were Limerick the last team to beat Derry in the League Cup?
Not giving out about helping the club (not that we need it anyway). I am surprised by the price of the tickets with no concessions for OAPs etc. If the number of FAI officials who attend the game is the same as our opening fixture in the league, I can see where it is all going and why it was set so high.
I don't understand your comment about when we played against your A team but it does remind me to ask if the penalty your keeper took in an earlier round of the competition has landed yet??????
The team we put out against you was our A Team. Fairly straightforward.
Yep, we found the ball, thanks. It was in the bushes behind the goal. Fortunately, people had paid into the game, so the club would have had money to replace it if all else failed.
Oi Stewie, get yerself down the N11 to Ferrycarraig for the final and give us yer support. ;)
All together now -

Stu's soft, and he loves The Youths... "
Even though, as has been pointed out to you numerous times, we didn't set the ticket prices and Wexford would (quite rightly) complained if they'd gotten a reduced gate because of it.
Nope, we wouldn't have complained. If we wanted to take money from 7yr olds, we would charge it ourselves for home league games. It's better that they keep the few bob and buy a football or boots, so they can play the game that they come to watch every few weeks
Anyway, I'm going to save the mods putting this to the rubbish bin by ending the debate (for now)
new updates on tickets went up on official site last night

as far as know opening seating is behind each goal

"The sale of tickets for the League Cup Final between the Wexford Youths and Derry City will not take place this Saturday as advertised. Tickets will not be printed until next week and will now go on sale the following Saturday, the 20th of September at 10am. This is not a Wexford Youths fixture but an FAI fixture and consequently we have no control over the situation.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

What a day for football (soccer!!!!) in the county. The Wexford People aka Hurling Weekly has 6 pages devoted to the League Cup Final. I never thought I'd see it in my lifetime. I'm saving it for a good read at lunchtime.
Best of luck to ye lads, I hope ye can cause an upset. I shall raise a shoe in yere honour if ye manage to do so!
Wexford Echo has 12 pages this week including a lovely article from Magicme. It includes a picture of the 17 who formed the squad for our first match in Monaghan in March 2007. 11 of them have gone (if you include Locky).
I try to keep track of the appearance and goal stats for the Youths and we've used a massive number of players in our short existence. I think I had 47 on my spreadsheet the other day and we've had one more debut since then. It's crazy, also our most capped players now have over 60 league games behind them.
