If only they could be as articulate as you

I've listened to the album twice now. Refreshingly different for them. X&Y was really average, but this one, dare i say it, is pretty damn good.
I like Coldplay and I have to say that they are potentially the closest thing to a modern day Beatles.
I realised this when watching the Violet Hill video and saw their style of dress and movement. Even outside their music their careers are similar. By that I mean what they campaign for and who their married to.
Violet Hill is defo one of their best work.
A good band and they're never going to please the cool kids so I wouldn't worry about anyone knocking them. They suffer from the association lazy journos/media types make of them with terrible tribute acts like Slow Patrol etc
Coldplay are at least 500 times better than every band that has tried to be them in the last 6/7 years
Wowser....
Editted (kinda) now.
Really liking the new one on it's first play alright. Good to see they've gone from being a singles band to one that is trying to make solid wall to wall albums. Liking the title track Viva La Vida too
Favourite tracks, Viva La Vida, Strawberry Swing, the hidden track at the end of Yes (Chinese Sleep Chant), the songs within songs really add to it.
Going back to Eno, parts of the album really really sound like James when Eno worked with them.
Really liked the album now,a good mix of music and a different sound to some of there previous albums. Saying that I've liked most of what they've brought out so far.
Liking the 2 singles , Lost! Strawberry Swing , 42 and Chinese Sleep Chant so far , it's definetly a grower
apart from the two singles my favourite would definatley be cemetaries of london and strawberry swigs. a very good album in general
Haven't listened to the whole album yet but is it safe to say they've rescued their image as a likable band from the mire their last album left them in, samples from techno songs, et al?
Liking the album. It's a cohesive collection songs that lend themselves to listening to the album as a whole. Very few weak moments. Hopefully the start of Coldplay - Mark II.
As someone previously mentioned, among the influences I can identify slight traces of James "Laid" album - in a good way. No coincidence that Eno produced that album also.
"42" is great melting pot of a song in the "Happiness is a Warm Gun", "Paranoid Android" mould.
got the album last week - think its very good. Wouldnt be a huge fan all the same and didnt get into X&Y really...
Fix You is a great song however and this is the best use of it ever. Watch the whole clip if you can...
