I'd say he's more inconsistent than average. He's the kind of player who seems destined to be yo-yoing between the Premiership and the Championship. There are parallels with the case of Andy Reid in that sense, only Reid's inconsistency and failure to carve out his niche is a result of injuries whereas Miller's is more down to dips in form.
He didn't seem to be doing that badly; when Sunderland played Man Utd at the beginning of the season he was the only member of the Sunderland midfield who looked any way comfortable on the ball, but I suppose they've come on since then and Reid obviously offers a lot more.
Says a lot about Keane's panicky incursions into the transfer market. Fair enough, Miller came in when Sunderland were in the Championship but he signed Harte with a view to playing him in the Premiership!
Miller might benefit from a move to a league without the physical intensity of the Premiership. I could see him getting a game for a team in the lower half of the Spanish first division.
