He'll be getting Cocky!.......although that's only alleged!:D

All I am willing to say is that John Giles and I recently had a conversation on football related matters. Obviously, while I am not currently employed as a football manager, it may be seen as a conflict of interest with what appears to be my full time job as pundit on Foot.ie.
I'll expect the "Bluebeard for Ireland" thread to be started by someone else, as it seemed tacky when Dave O'Leary did the same a few months ago.
Oooh, chance would be a fine thing...
Allegedly, of course.
Giles is now 6/1 for the job after being asked on newstalk last night was he interested in the job and was there any truth to the Giles/Brady story. Giles did not deny the story. Instead he said he did not know where the journo got the story.
One of the lads got a tip on Giles the other day from someone who works in the FAI.
There's an old Irish saying that goes "Duirt bean liom, go duirt bean lei..." .
Giles back after 25 years out of the game and his only experience during that time is repeating himself on a panel with Coco the CLown and a Laughing Hyena...give me a break.
Giles' interview from thursday night is available for download from the NewsTalk podcast list: http://83.138.170.50/podcasts/audio/1001giles.mp3
How many times and in how many different ways can he say no, - no truth, donīt know where they got that story from, I told them (the sunday newspaper) no.
So some people think that's a yes and have kept in a close enough 3rd fav.
That's what I took from it, he's no interest in being manager whatsoever
Seems that once again betting has been suspended on the Irish Manager. When I checked yesterday afternoon Giles was 15/1. Then when I checked this morning his odds had tumbled to 3/1.
I have nothing against Giles becoming manager because lets face it all we want issomeone who can get us back on track and if Gilesy can do it then let him do it.
Eirebhoy, were you on time to throw another tenner on Giles? :)
Yeah. :D It's free money for the bookies and I can't believe people fall for it. He's one person the bookies can bank on not getting the job.
He hasn't gone away you know...:(
Apart from openly criticising some of the candidates on the radio is there any indication that he would even want the job? More importantly, can anyone think of any way the FAI could spin this appointment as a good thing? And justify paying him anything close to the wages that the FAI are willing to spend?
Maybe Delaney's been listening to Staunton and overestimating the importance of the RTE panel. Giles would have a free run off RTE but everyone else would view it as a crazy decision, surely? The only thing I could think of is that Giles has been approached for a Bobby Robson-type consultant role and Chinese whispers are leading people to put money on him...
