If the club were in a position to get a few quality players (like they had in his play off year) fair enough. Sound bloke who you would want to see do well but this is a case of wrong club at the wrong time.

Aiden Ryan would be a great choice as a manager, his history with Junior/local soccer is excellent, well respected, but it doesnt matter who gets the job as ye will be sick of him by this time next year, going on pass experiences

What past experiences? Us not wanting NOC back in the first place, and then giving hi deserved criticism when he failed miserably? Or us having a problem with McGee's sideline antics and his lack of interest in anything other than himself?

congatulations on gettin rid of him lads, time for ye to move forward now, never despized a manager so much, possibly the most productive thing that happened since l37 was formed.

That's a fair enough assesment but:

I genuinely don't think we will be quite as chronic squad wise this year as we were the 2nd season in Pike.

No one is expecting a challenge for the league this season. It'll be Waterford, Shels and Dundalk duking it out.

hate backing up the dazzler but its true aidan ryan was asked before mike turned it down as ski was still in the job mike told me himself bad form out of the ceo:mad:

shouldn,t surprise anyone if a candidate turned the job down.....who would pay him.i wasn a fan of skee but his treatment has been disgraceful,finished in 4th,not paid in months,then gets sacked.our CEO conduct needs to be seriously scrutinised and bar LTID i dont see too many questioning that...you are very quiet gael on this,kerley was appointed last week a full week b4 skee was shafted,at least one other person was approached about the job also...this is shocking carry on and very unprofessional.the job will suit kerley as he cant get a job anywhere else,small and all as the budget wll be he will make sure he,s in for his share and with whats left pay the U21s which is all the rest will pay.yes he did well his 1st year with the team he inherited from noc,after that its 4 wins in 51 el games....oh and he,s a nice guy which pleases the cartel of gael and co.btw noc won the LC in his 1st season with a ...junior team...how that can be dismissed given there are only 4 trophies to win is beyond me and i,m not his greatest fan either.

ehhh am i missing something here? is my name the only one you can remember or you just singelling me out? "im very quite" about the way ski was treated???? am i the spoksman for limerick 37 or something? i know some people value my imput but really im flattered :o a 51 game league season seems a bit long too in my opinion and maybe his team was tired :D as for the league cup winning "junior side", fyffe, Poll, Browne, Purcell, Finucane, O'Donaghue, White, Molan, Donnallan, McCarthy, Stokes...O'Sullivan and one or two others....ok ill correct myself, Kerleys second year side was a side lesser in quality then a junior side. Oh and as for the cost of Kerley or whatever new manager is appointed, i havent a clue how much hes paid but he is the holder of an "A" coaching badge which is whats required to manage in the LOI with some "A" coaches demanding upto €1200 per week as there are so few of them. Kinda a cartel of them floating around for the last few years thats why the same names pop up all the time for the LOI club jobs.

E450 is not a lot of money!

For those who have never had a job in their lives, just to let you know, the average industrial wage in june 2007 (the latest figure I'm aware of) was over E625 per week. Given that a League of Ireland manager is a skilled job requiring several qualifications, I'd say anything much less than that represents very good value for money.
And in terms of the cost of living in Ireland, E625 per week is not a lot of money either!

In fairness I think any sympathy anyone would feel for Ski should be tempered by his disgraceful carry on all year.

Although shafted is ridiculously strong this is a valid point.

The clubs handling of this has been pathetic IMO.

The time to sack Ski was after the Kildare away game and the €2000 fine which was incrued as a result.

The club could have sacked him for gross misconduct and released a statement stating the need for professionalism within the club moving forward etc etc.

Dare I say it the club could have came out of it looking well.

Instead you have this pathetic small time cloak and dagger nonsense which looks awful, reeks of the past and above all should have been utterly, utterly unnecessary if the CEO was doing his job properly.

Also, hawking the job around to other managers while we still had one is ridiculous carry on.

Just to clarify I'm by no means the sole dissenting voice within the support.

I just don't want it to look like I've some sort of personal vendetta against Finnin because this is not the case.

Just on this, my own view anyway and AFAIK the view of the lads I go to matches with is that Kerley is preferable to O'Connor for the style of football he at least has the team attempting to play.

On a personal level I wouldn't have had much dealings with either and when I have I've found them both to be grand so Mikes "niceness" definitely wouldn't swing it as far as I'm concerned.

god your some "friend" of kerleys if he confides in you and you splatter it all over the web well unlike you i am not friendly with kerley but i am friendly with a board member and he wouldnt confirm that kerley was the manager but did confirm that ryan was NOT approached so why not direct questions to the club or the board and you will get answers i was told there was a meeting tonight so we might know after that and it would have been stupid to have got rid of a manager without having a possible replacement in mind easy know some of ye have never been involved in buisness or football management
