However, I think it is important to recognize that the vast majority of people would take the payout. If you accept that premise, then blame must be focused on the FAI for not setting up conditions in which such a payout would be unnecessary by doing their contract appropriately up front. It's not like Stan had a lot of leverage after all ... what was he doing, coaching in League One? You could have written almost anything into that contract and the dude would have signed it to be manager of Ireland.
