fernando torres is over-rated. and even if he was the top striker in la liga, which he isnt, there is no guarentee that he'll be good playing english football. lets not forget how different the two styles of play are. i know it is not a good example to pick but- diego forlan. he was perhaps one of the greatest flops to grace the premiership, and then played brilliant once he rrived in spain. the style just didnt suit him. the same could become of torres.
LTID, read my post.
I'm not comparing them unfavourably or talking about their history.
Just to unboggle the mind, I was stating that Torres has scored those goals over a 5 or 6 year period where Atletico have been as successful as Charlton.
Point taken rr, thought they wer in the Intertoto.
ian rush reconks liverpool right to break bank for torres http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?...l=Premiership&
Is he on about chopping down:p trees
Rush doesn't have a clue what he's on about if he think Torres is a natural goalscorer.
At least Rush accepts that Liverpool will not win the league next season. They are still 2 seasons away IMO to stand any real chance.
"His record is 82 goals in 200 games for Atletico, I think," Fowler told Sky Sports News. "His record has been fantastic in Spain.
Again, like Ian Rush, he's way off the mark.
Can we get all these Torres threads merged?
Merged.
I think the jury is still out on Torres. Atlético have been a mess for some years now and for me it's difficult to say how he will get on with a decent team behind him.
I couldn't stand him when he first came on the scene, too lightweight and something of a diver, but he's matured, bulked up and is a more rounded player.
Still overrated though and not worth the silly money Benitez has shelled out for him.
press conference on now, rafa sporting a rather gay goatee:D
Rooney 223 games 76 goals Hardly awe inspiring?
He is no Van nistlerooy. Defo not an out and out striker but he'll do well.
Also no-one has mentioned that he apparently played most of last season on the left wing. Its hardly a step backwards for liverpool is it?
no wonder he went to liverpool, saves him having to learn another language
