I enquired about this lads and agree its not right but in their defence they have a backlog of games as they lost seven weeks of games due to bad weather. They are playing games nearly 7 days a week to make up for those losses and they have to hurry as their insurance runs out in June so hence the rush. All these games are 25 mins a side so some of those games are being brought forward to 6 and 6 30 to try and give the kids a chance to get to the games. Also not many games i am being told are played on L37 match nights.

I think we made one of those Thurday night games once, we had to book holidays and phone sick 3 months in advance and still got hammered 4 nil in the first 10 mins.

Gael, appreciate your efforts on enquiring on this but I don't buy their response. I know this isn't directly relevant to L37 but it does affect a prime target audience of kids who play soccer and coaches who obviously have an interest in the game.
1) games are not fixed at 6PM.
2) only u11 games are of 25mins per half duration - it goes up to 40mins per half for u15/u16s
3) i don't see any difference in the amount of friday fixtures when L37 are at home or away
4) any body who controls a winter field sport in ireland and doesn't budget for losing several weeks due to weather is deluding themselves, so the bad weather isn't bad luck just bad planning

This morning when i read this thing about games being played alongside L37 ones i flipped a lid and rang someone about it. now all the stuff your telling me is news to me, im not involved in underage soccer in the city im only a fan of Limerick senior soccer. Maybe Old Keeper might be in a better posion to confirm or add more information to this area which i know nothing about.

Hi lads

A few things

Friday night was always a traditional night for Schoolboys/girls, The fact that L37 are playing is a problem for both sides as the schoolboys/girls are fully behind the participation of L37 in the FAI Eircom League of Ireland.
There are a few logistical problems to be sorted out and the backlog of fixtures really needs to be played as if it is not the league will end up with players finishing school and going on holidays before the season is over.

Lets not get too excited as the players and mentors are I am sure dissapointed that the current situation is as is but really there is not much that can be done until the backlog is eliminated. Schoolboy/girl soccer is the future of our team and club so lets all take a deep breath and see if we can make tomorrow night a great night and dedicate it to the lads and lassies who are playing.

ah the pleasures of playin dundalk on a saturday our sunday afternoon it feels great, cany actually recall a thurday night game at oriel, do any dundalk fans remember the last one

Post of the month.

Best of luck to our lads tonight. Dundalk are by no means invincible, if our back four play as well as they have done so far, with a little bit of luck who knows what might happen at the other end.
